rSAP spec'd Mobile Phone suggestions

Featured Replies

Technically you can't buy it without maxidot as to have bluetooth you need a MFSW and to get a MFSW you need DSG! If you could spec BT on its own it includes maxidot anyway.

Checkers' original question was about his pre installed BT but BillyT1903 has obviously not got BT so probably wanted to see about having it retro fitted.

Maxidot is NOT standard on the FL vRS but there may be a way to integrate BT with just the Bolero on a non maxidot car?

Come on Ben - you'll know the answer to this one.

Thanks for the useful information. Will be really handy when I come to fit Bluetooth.

Thanks all for your comments!

As I am intending to use the same retailer to change to a phone that does work, I have decided on the Nokia 6700. Probably not the best, but as long as it works then I'm happy.

Again, if any one suspects this phone won't work, then please let me know.

Cheers

It has remote SIM profile, no worries.

Sorry, what i meant was small app is for WM6.1. 6.5 has it and so do many cooked 6.1 roms. On my TouchHD stock i installed the small app, and with custom XDA roms it came with it be it 6.1 or 6.5.

As i have asked many times, please when someone receives their new cars with Premium GSM III+ to share with us their experience with non-rsap phones :)

Im a bit of a techi numpty and was also unsure whats going on here. The book says my new BBerry Pearl 3G should not work but it does ! However can any one explain the following?

Since getting the car my phone worked brill as soon as I stepped into the car it connected and came up with Bluetooth premium signage! When in the car driving this would show texts and read them out to me when selected. This was great however the word premium has disappearded and now only shows the bluetooth sign and no longer shows text messages when they arrive or read them out. It also now takes 3 or 4 minutes to connect to my phone.

Just to add something else into the mix my wife also has the same phone which displays the phone name on the car display but never ever pairs with it, coming up with the message NO PAIRED PHONE FOUND can anyone help or do I need to start a new topic?

Sorry as I don't have a BBerry, but on my HTC TouchHD I get no signage on my phone, and on Maxidot (car display) it's just my provider/profile name. Try deleting your and wifes profile and set them up again if it makes any difference.

Mine takes about 1 minute to pair and I have had to delete and re-pair it again a few times.

I have an iPhone 3GS on a 2011 octy l&k with Mfsw and bt.

All works fine. Only have (use) phonebook.

Voice dial works a treat, signal and battery show on maxi dot and bolero.

Only issue is that every time I get a new phonebook (exchange update) it overwrites my pre sets on the bolero.

If there is extra functions with an rsap bt, what am I missing??

rSap basically is a phone on it's self, and takes over your phone SIM meaning your car antenna will act as a better GSM signal receptor, made for people who spend all their day on car talking. Other than that, I can't see any benefit of it.

Oh dear. Just exchanged tonight the HTC for a Nokia 6700 and this doesn't seem to work either :'( . Get as far as having to enter 1 of the 4, 4-digit codes on the Maxidot in to the phone, then the Maxidot says Authorisation failed!

Not sure what else to try.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry guys, case of running before walking...... I should have entered a 16-digit code (stated in the manual!!!!) as per the Maxidot and now the phone does work!

Hello,

I have posted it again in another place but i just saw this one.

In my Superb I have 5N0 035 730C. I got the car April 2010. I also have Columbus navigation system.

For now I'm using an HTC touch HD which is connected with no promlems with car's pre instalation.

I had a look on the ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.u...H-/280597915034) for the new 3C8035730A.

They say that it's the same with 5N0035730D and if you order it you may get either of the two.Anyone knows if they are the same?

If I replace it will I have the same functionality as now? i.e. will I have the same Columbus screen and also maxi dot informatio? Do i need to change anything in the coding of the car as they do at http://www.myturbodi...uetooth-FAQ.htm

Abyone has any photos of the maxi dot and columbus (or Bolero) after the change?

Hey guys just picked up my april 2010 Octavia Vrs CR with dsg, which i thought had bluetooth, phone button on the steering wheel and Bolero head unit but after a quick google of the build codes it appears i may not :'( i dont have any phone settings on the maxidot or the head unit and when i press the phone button it mutes the radio. If i had bluetooth fitted what does the unit look like? If i havent (which i suspect) what parts to i need to get to fit it and is the wiring already there??

One of the giveaway signs of factory fitted Bluetooth is a sharkfin addition to the external radio mast. I think there's an extra box of tricks under one of the front seats as well. But if it's not showing on Maxidot or on the Bolero when you press the phone button, sounds like it's not fitted.

See thread (4 pages long, with photos by me etc etc) in Superb 2 Forum.

I'm sure it'll explain all!

Al.
