Petrol Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi, I own an octavia but am a big fan of the fabia also. I have noticed that a few fabia owners are unhappy that the fabia gets compared to other cars which it shouln't, eg hot petrol hatches. I was wondering then do you think it would be a good idea for skoda to make a fabia petrol vrs and would you buy one. I think the new octavia vrs will be a 2 litre turbo with about 225 bhp so why not have a fabia petrol vrs with about 180bhp?

If they ever made one, it would probably have the 150bhp 1.8l petrol engine that is found in the Seat Ibiza FR, but it can be chipped to over 200bhp, so you would be sorted there.

I'd assume a 2.0FSI 150bhp the most likely candidate...

As rumoured in a couple of motoring mags......

Thought it would just be a Skoda version of the Ibiza FR, hence the 1.8T for the petrol version.

Personally (and of course this is just my humble opinion) it should be left well alone! Why? Because in it's present form it's a cracking car, best of both worlds. Huge fun (as standard) and even more so when re-mapped, plus it gives wonderful economy when needed.

Now there are many out there who would probably disagree with me but, coming from a petrol Focus ST170 to the PD Furby it's just like entering another dimension. Ok the handling is no match for the Foci but the power and drive-ability is something else. The Focus needs to be worked :pants: (alot) whereas the Furby is just so usable in every way.

So for me it's 'don't fix it if it's not broken'. Keep the petrol with the Octy and the overall fun and hooligan factor with the furby. :airjock:

The new vrs Octavia will be 200 bhp petrol my dealer in halifax has confirmed to me & they are getting one in November....

They also told me a petrol Fabia vrs is on the cards with possibly a 6 cylinder

engine!!

and in someones case they are lethal with even less............say a PD100 :P

Wow...a Fabia V6....that's my next buy...if it ever happens..

Over 200 bhp deserves 4wd. Madness to have that much through the front imo

Aye! Come on Skoda! Build a full blown 4x4 Turbocharged Tarmac snorting WRC Rep!

I'd buy it :)

BTW for Homologation purporses I thought they had to build so many WRC reps to be eligable to enter them in WRC????

They do but i think most companies keep them to use themselves over a full season of rallying.

No, I meant Like Mitsi and Subaru do with the Evo's and Imprezas.....

Do you mean something like this? :D

Skoda Fabia with 200bhp 2,0 TFSi engine, 4x4 chasiss from new octavia and Audi interior. I made these pics on one parking close to Mlada Boleslav where is the main Skoda factory. There are more interesting cars with various mods, like re-designed tail lights, taller chasiss etc...

Re-designed tail lights, where?

If There was going to be a Petrol vRS, I Would Put The VW 1.4FSI Twincharger, Thats 168BHP I beleive, that would be cool and economical!

It needs lowered suspension and some better wheels, then it would look OK
