Petrol Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

I suspect that the blue fabia pictured is a test mule for something entirely different, but I am drooling at the thought of a 200bhp + 4wd fabia. :D

they'll hopefully give it the octy 312mm brakes

and whats wrong with the full pd160 kit?

I wouldn't want a Petrol engined one, the fact that is a Diesel makes it that more special :D

Yeah, they should make 4x4 2.0 tdi 200 bhp

I think so also. The fact that them pictures have been kicking around for ages and that it has what would appear to be Octavia 2 running gear means the wide body kit was probably required to cover the wheels etc.

Re-designed tail lights, where?

Only new Octavia vRS will be also 2.0TDi with 170hp but you have heard about this already I guess.

The basic thing is, most people have bought a VRS due to the fact it is a diesel and they can have the best of both worlds, i.e a bit of oomph and cheapish running cost depending on what you do. A petrol one would be nice and open up a whole new market of pertential buyers. Me personally would have kept my scooby, in the petrol world nothing came close in my eyes.

Why put it into the mainstream so much - I like the fact that most boy racers won't touch diesels, and I like the mid-range - a petrol with less than 6 cylinders would just underwhelm me. :thumbdwn:

Let's face it, we'd have bought Clio/CTR/Octys if we wanted petrol hathces.

Aye! Come on Skoda! Build a full blown 4x4 Turbocharged Tarmac snorting WRC Rep!

I'd buy it :)

BTW for Homologation purporses I thought they had to build so many WRC reps to be eligable to enter them in WRC????

No they don't.

It has to be based on a road going model - that's why the fabia vrs has such big bumpers so that it exceeds the minimum 4m length required for homologation for WRC by the FIA.

All the following are homologated by the FIA for various motorsports.

FELICIA – 1'289.4cc

FELICIA 1.6 – 1'598cc

OCTAVIA 1.8 20V – 1'781cc

OCTAVIA 1.9 TDI – 1'896cc

FABIA 1.4 – 1'397.2cc

FABIA 1.9 TDI – 2'844.3cc

FABIA 1.4 16V – 1'389.9cc

FABIA RS – 1'896.2 x 1.5 = 2'844.3cc
