Come on then, cards on the table..........

Bearing in mind the only way Hamilton can win is if Vettel manages to take out himself, Alonso and Webber in one fell swoop, I'd like to see Webber take the title - he's the most down to earth, genuinely nice bloke in contention

Hamilton because he is British.

If not him I'd want Webber as I despise Gonzo and Vettel is a Boxhead.

Webber for me too emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Webber or Vettel

It is simply because I think it has been Red Bull's year. I don't want Alonso to win it as he is already twice world champion (05 & 06) and I don't want a Ferrari to win again. Lewis is would be nice, but he has a very slim chance and he was world champion in 2008. As Mark is English speaking and their "No 2 Driver" I want him to win.

Lewis ......But he wont!! :'(

I'm a Ferrari fan but i'd actually like Webber to take it, but i don't think he will........ Alonso and Ferrari's turn around in later part of this season has been very impressive, so i won't be too upset if they clinch it, i think it would be well deserved, but for some reason i get that un-nerving feeling that Vettel might actually might get lucky........ If Button or Webber (or both) get the jump on Alonso, and the rest finish where they are, then he could clinch it. I half think Vettel is more likely to take it now than Webber, and it's felt like the team (RB) have wanted it that way all season, i'd bet that if Vettel had been in Marks shoes last race, they would of switched the 2 of them round! I hope Vettel doesn't get it though, with a bit of luck he'll have bits of his engine showering the track once again :giggle:

Based on past performace, it's possible that Vettel could take out his team mate and Alonso, leaving Lewis to win. Here's hoping...

I vote for Webber as he is a good driver and it will be his one and only chance to win the title.

Im hoping Webber takes it tomorrow. He is a good guy and has been decent all year.

Webber for me too

I think he's had a raw deal with the team this year.

Horner says that the drivers are equal, but a Silverstone the team arrived with two new front wings. Vettel's wing was damaged in practice so they took Webber's new wing and put it on Vettel's car for Qualifying and the race.

I think Alonso will take the title. He looked to be out of it back in the summer, but fair play to him after Silverstone he said he would win the title.

what did i say.... the little pr!ck has gone and done it! he'll be waving his bloody finger about all bloody year now!

oh well, congrats to him.

Has anyone sussed why Alonso was getting arsy with Petrov after the finish? Apart from the fact he wouldn't pull over and let him pass

I nearly pee'd myself

Only 16 weeks to go now.

Have to say it was a dull race, which is a pity as the track looks like a really good drivers track.

Not a massive fan of Vettel, but I think he deserved it and it proves RedBull right for not favouring Webber a race or two ago.

I haven't bothered to do the maths, but it would be interesting to see what the situation would have been if last years scoring was used, as the new system heavily favours a win.

I did the maths using last years points system on sunday morning.

If I'm correct the final standings would have been:

Vettel 102

Alonso 101

Hamilton 100

Webber 97

Button 94

Not that different then, and the same winner

Exactly; I also saw (in MotorSport, so try their website for more details) a recalculation of previous years using the new scoring system, and the prediction before the season even got started was that it would make burglar all difference to the championship.

Incidentally, I was supporting Lewis most, then a Red Bull, due to a deep antipathy for the Spaniard.

Even if Bernie's 'most wins' system was used Vettel would have still won.

Vettel and Alonso were equal on five wins, so the number points scored would then have decided the champion.

What's peoples views on whether Webber will drive for RedBull next year?

He said he would in the post race interview, but it wasn't said with much conviction. If he stays he knows he'll be the number two driver so I guess he would only stay for the money?

Actually, it wouldn't; the PD only considered top 3 finishes, and you needed to go down to 4ths to separate them.

yeh i think the track ruined the race. It was going to be epic but turned out a bit of a flop.

Worthy winner tho, and to disagree with the voting I dont think Webber deserved it at all. Considering he had a much faster car than Alonso it says a lot he got beat in the end by him. It took Vettel to make the most of the advantage.

And with the team orders makes me laugh how RBR are taking the moral high ground. They had no choice but to leave it orderless as a ) they wanted Vettel to win and B ) Vettel was much faster than Webber. It was hardly a saints choice.

Conveniently forgetting that Webber might have already sealed it if Vettel hadn't taken him out in an earlier GP because of his gung ho attitude ;)

and that was part of why I dont think Webber deserves it, i know that incident was Vettels fault but Webber shouldnt of closed him down like he did. Webber puts himself in a position to crash to often.

The clever driver, Alonso, button and I dare say Hamilton on a good day would of admited theyd been passed, let it go and come out 15 points better off.......
