No!!!

You'll die of boredom in a std E-Class. Least I did.

Nice as a barge, but if you want something that actually 'drives', then look at BM and Audi. Audi needs some tweaking to catch up though, as Lady E will tell you ;)

It seems to take a lot of money to help catch up too :(

Quite agree the 'E' Class is barge but the thread was regarding the 'C' class which is an altogether different proposition.

The Audi undoubtedly takes some beating (as does Bmw) but for a little bit of individuality the C250 Estate makes sense as your not going to equal 500nm of torque in that sector.

Agreed!!

For costs the Audi a4 2.0 diesel and BMW 320d are about same as a c250.

If I want to "catch up" on power terms it means Audi 3.0 diesel or 330d which cost more on lease

Merc in lead so far..........

Unless you want 4x4. Which is why I'd never go for the Merc or BMW.

All year round control and usability. It's not just about speed. ;)

Found solution..... I think!

Audi a4 allroad 170 diesel, excellent lease deals, 4x4, and vrs diesel engine!

Got to be in with a chance..

Depends on how much MPG you really need but as an executive express, not much is a better performance bargain than a facelift W211 AMG.

I drove my friends CL63 around for a day last week and I averaged 23mpg and that included a couple of goes of seeing how fast/loud it actually is, ridiculous on both counts if you're wondering.

My brother has a new C63 AMG which I've driven a few times and I know if I owned anything like that my mpg would be dire as the noise from the

exhaust when you boot it is way too addictive to resist!!!

i'd go the jaguar route.... everythin depreciates, and most differences between bmw/mercs/audi and not noticable in truth plus they are all S.S.D.D. jags just offer that something diffrent! XJ6 TDVI sovereign would be a good choice!

as for the s type r vote earlier on.... you know what your talkin about! total bargain!!! total performance!!!

Mazda 6 225bhp diesel?

You're in the wrong job mate, while it's a bit short that's one of the best and to-the-point reviews I've ever read! With a dash of humour too!
