Fast 4/5 door required!

Featured Replies

No I'm not a bank robber!!

What's a fast 4/5 door or even estate on this side of 30k,(£300 to £400+ a month to business lease)

Need to start looking soon, please give ideas

P.s no scooby's or evo's as miles per gallon is a factor, or boring-ness(KIA ceed etc!!)

Needs to be sporty to look at too

Ideas please.

If you can get past the badge I saw a Vauxhall insignia at the top gear MPH show in London.

If I remember correctly it;s 320 BHP, Brembo's, Recaro's etc etc, under £30K.

Looked trick too, doubt you'll get anything quicker for the money!

Or wait until it's a year old and buy it for £20 :D

Seriously though, I bet one of those would depreciate like anything, so would be a great nearly new buy,

Got to admit it looks the dogs!!

Deprecation is not an issue as it would be leased.

Lease company's take depreciation into account when setting the lease cost... That's why it costs about the same to lease a 5 series as it is to lease a Mondeo...

MMMM, Insignia VXR....New Volvo S60? Or a Superb 3.6 V6?

Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 £29k? Diesel for £34k, (possibly knock it down to 30?).

VW Passat CC V6 GT 3.6 FSI 4MOTION DSG. £31k

Volvo V70 T5 R. £30k

Just a couple of choices

Passat CC Mmmmm.....I'm not a lover of the normal passat but the CC is worth a look, cheers.

Is it due a facelift though as the normal passat is?

I would have any fast and heavy 4door cars are going to be thirsty, my choice would be Jaguar S type "R"

emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gifWhat about Audi A4 3.0 tdi or A5 3.0 tdi?????????

Yep, new one is out shortly with the latest family look.

Tried to find a pic of one but with no joy!

Superb 3.6 Elegance.

Isn't that the one with the sport button and then the special 'VXR' button?

Press the sport button and suspension stiffens, throttle response is better, etc..................but.................when you press the 'VXR' button................wait for it...................all the instrument clocks turn red! WOW!!!!!

A4s 3.0tdi's are cool and can do well over 40mpg on the motorway :)

If I don't jump into a 4x4( prob just a reaction to current weather )

Then I'm thinking A5 sportback s-line.

Nice car and not too bad on the leasing front too.

Prob a 170 BHP diesel as in my Vrs, it's quick enough and low emissions for tax

Considered a Merc C250 CDI BlueEfficiency? Sub 8secs 150mph and and low tax! Not many about!

Funnily enough, yes especially now that I've just read it's got 500nm torque compared to 380 to 400 of it's main rivals!!

Looking at lease prices right now.........!

Just popped into Tesco's and noticed Latest edition of 'AutoExpress' has a review of it against some of the other cars you have mentioned.

Favourable review to!

I got it mate cheers, interesting reading.

For that kind of money I'd be looking at an Audi A4 Avant TDi Quattro.

Audi quality, big boot, good fuel economy, fast and 4x4 for bad road conditions and snow.

Hold the money fairly well too, which should translate into reasonable lease rates.

Or if you don't need the estate the Sportback A5 is an option at nearly the same price. Looked at one in a dealers... nice looking car.

I can second that, except the fuel consumption in traffic while the car is warming up is truly horrendous, but I am getting low 40+mpg on the motorway with ease (I have the 3.0tdi quattro). As for the slightly higher figures quoted for the Merc above, all I can say is that the Audi seems to easily produce plenty of Torques and has a very flat torque curve (or torque flat perhaps?). It seems as quick as the Merc in real life and makes a surprisingly nice growl, plus VAG cars are famed for their modest representation of their outputs. only the BMW 3.0tdi seems to be a better engine imho (although it doesn't sound quite as pleasant)
