2005 Fabia Rear Lights

Featured Replies

It is a extremly difficult job to achieve and should only be attempted by anyone with more than a basic grasp of how to use a spanner (so thats me out) and will take you well over 1 minute to do.

1) in the boot' date=' pull back the cloth behind the light cluster and remove the white light bulb holder.

2) undo the nuts that should be holding the light in place

3) remove the light cluster.

4) refit in reverse order and repeat on the other side.

about 10 mins should do it.[/quote']

10 mins, MY ASRE :D Took me 20 do do one side. Didnt mention that one of the nuts is hidden behind the plastic boot sill thing. Got it off OK, putting it back on, different story. Nearly got the nut on and 'Drop' down the black hole under it. Bit of 'effing and jeffing' and all was well.

Job done in 40 mins. Looks lot better than old style IMHO.

Are combi/wagon tail-lights different from the HB lights?

I'd like to "renew" the looks of my Fabia Wagon.

Taillights and the new grille louvre are nice optical improvements.

(Apologies - edited to note that technically this posting is replying on the wrong basic assumption (that you wanted Milotec type lights) - but at least it proves the tail lights are different on an estate)

If you check out the Milotec website - http://www.milotec.de/english/index.html > Fabia > Headlamp & tail lamp (it's refusing to accept the direct link) you'll see the rear lights are listed as applicable to:

For model:

Skoda Fabia sedan as from 1/00->

Skoda Fabia GT/RS

You can deduce that "sedan" means hatch since there are light masks listed as applicable to:

Skoda Fabia notchback as from 6/01 ->

Skoda Fabia estate as from 11/00 ->

Hence it would appear the estate's lights are different - and Milotec only list masks not new lights.

In fact you can tell the difference by looking at the photos of each - the inner edge on the saloon and estate is more vertical.

Thanks for the analysis! :)

What I actually dislike about the new tail-lights is the orange part! Why orange? I bought Philips Silvervision bulbs for all my 4 corner-indicators to get rid of any orange parts on my car. With the new tails the orange is quite present again though, and Silvervision bulbs will not help.

I know this is quite an old thread, but does anyone have the part numbers for the new shape rear light clusters. I just phoned Butts and the bloke didn't have a clue what I was on about....

The new ones will fit the older model, I was offered by my service manager to change my rear lights and add the new front bumber with headlights and fogs for an extreme bargain, but I like my bumper spoiler so I said no.

It's not a new shape...they've only extended the lines of the reverse light part to go all around like a mercedes...

Yeah I know that, sorry I should have said, new design or maybe latest design!

Anyone work at a dealer?

Are they....6Y6945112B (R/H) and 6Y6945111B (L/H).

Can anyone confirm this???

No one know then?

im still considering this idea of modding the lightsS2020063deeee.jpg:)

No one know then?

matey who asked at euro car parts quoted me

mwwhahaha

mwwhahaha

Looks like I might just ring my dealer - think they're getting a bit fed up of me ringing for silly things

Don't suppose you know the part numbers then?

na just asked for face lift rear clusters... i'll have a look on them when they arrive.

You guys think the new clusters look better than the older one?? I was thinking of changing mine but now I'm thinkin' it has to much of a merc look.

That's coz it's like the Merc lights :D

I dont mind really. I know they pay a LOT more for theirs, and the same goes for the flip-key-remote. IIRC about twice as much for a Merc driver vs a Skoda one. How unfair to them ;)

just like the look, i really love the new octy lights its just a shame fabias dont have the same C lighting.

I prefer the old style lights - not a fan of all the clear plastic which seems to appearing on the rears of cars these days

Chris

At least they're not "Lexus" stylee lights that seem to be cropping up these days!! :D

With a pair of Silvervision bulbs in the indicators they look better (the 05 Fabia lights, not the Lexus ones!) :D

I prefer the old style lights with a pair of silver vision indicator bulbs.

Yeah deffo need the philips bulbs.... can i get them in halfrauds... and how much?
