I don't think so for all those abandoned cars an the van on it's side!

When I was on my way to that spot I was followed by an Ocado van it couldn't get very far up as it's wheels were spinning-I talked to the driver briefly. I had no such issues.

I can't agree more. I've only done 150 miles since I collected Elsie on Wednesday, but I can't stop smiling to myself when driving her. I keep on wanting to use her off road.

I had to reverse down a road today because there was a large White van man van on it's side in Oxted on the way to Woldingham.

It was quite steep and still icy. I used the off road button and the light was flashing as I crept backwards down the hill. It was amazing. I am really, really impressed with this car. Nothing I have driven compares with the way it drives and inspires confidence. Not even my brace of BMW's I had previously!

There are some good hills around there, Titsey Hill, Bug Hill & Succombs Hill - the hairpin half way up on the latter would be a good test for any vehicle in icy conditions.

Years ago I drove a 1750 Maxi up Succombs Hill with 6" of snow on the ground, then got stuck on Warlingham Green!!

Without giving my age away, I recall my father with his 1932 Standard Flying Eight (side valve, no syncromesh) attempting Succombs summit. A nail biting experience and that was in good weather. Don't think it had Hill Hold:giggle:

It was still closed so I used Bug Hill instead to get home earlier.

I learnt to drive on a Maxi with a slipping clutch and no 4th gear. My father didn't look after his cars in those daysemoticon-0136-giggle.gif, but that was around South Oxfordshire, and there were no challenging hills like those around me in Surrey!
