DPF removal and re-map

Featured Replies

Anyone had the DPF removed and a remap carried out

Any problems with performance, MOT emissions, does the car now smoke out of the tail pipes. Increased MPG or any other problems

All comments appreciated

Thanks

Apparently ;) Jabbasport can do it, Removal of the DPF will make the car smoke occasionally but no worse than a diesel without a DPF, MPG will be better & currently the MOT test is the same for all diesels so removal of the DPF wont cause a fail. The car will also be much nicer to drive

Obviously if you map the car with the emphasis on performance you will get more smoke but thats really down to what you want from it & with a custom map it can be tailored to your requirements

We concentrate on mapping them with no smoke at all, a few guys have had theirs done by us (infact there's a CR170 in at the moment that's been done by us) so perhaps one of them might pass their comments later on.

would love to read some feedback thinking of doing this in summer. any idea on the mpg gain ?

AS far as i am aware there is only Jabbasoprt that boasts dpf removal and mapping successfuly with no probs

Been running my Custom Code / JBS Set up now since March and not had any problems associated with not having the DPF

Ive had the usual 2.0 PD Engine stutter problem that i solved with a Skoda Gasket, Ive recently discovered that my Milltek DPF Delete pipe is also leaking so taking it back to Milltek HQ on the 17th

Car does smoke now, With the DPF on it didnt smoke at all, But i want it to smoke! its a Diesel - my Approach to this is if you dont want smoke but want performance then buy a petrol

hoping to go for Stage3-Stage3+ next year B)

Andrew, what is Stage 3 - Stg3+ on the PD 170?

Big turbo, better intercooler, injectors?

you will need a new clutch and flywheel also I guess...

I assume that DPF's are fitted to lower the emission figures and hence the scale of road tax. If the DPF is removed how will that affect the road tax?

Look a bit closer to home mate! We can do ALL DPF removal (including the difficult 8v 2.0PD and newest CR 2.0 and 3.0 TDIs) :)

recently discovered that my Milltek DPF Delete pipe is also leaking so taking it back to Milltek HQ on the 17th

Where is it leaking from?

Its leaking from the Flexi bit of the downpipe right at the base. When mine was fitted by JBS these also left one of the rubber attachment things off

Stage3 is Turbo (Not Hybrid),Injectors,Clutch+Flywheel and Maybe Intercooler not sure what the standard one is rated to im also thinking of removing Backbox

They broke my DPF pressure sensor pipe - their attitude about which was shocking. I am so glad to be done with them.

I'll be traveling from Ireland early in the new year to shark performance to get my cr vrs dpf removed and new map fitted. After talking to Ben a while ago he left me feeling confident about bringing my car to him.

@Ben have you managed to get someone to make a dpf replacement pipe for the cr?

We have a close relationship with a local custom exhaust centre so I'm sure there's something we can do together there emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Can you pm me with the figures gained on the cr maybe some before and after graphs :)

Cheers Ben

Yeh Customer service isnt there strongest point, Hence why i have contacted Milltek Direct and told them id rather come to see them than go back.

If im definately keeping the car next year then i will be coming to test out a Shark Map see how it handles compated to the C-C one and then go for more power and more smoke :giggle:

Sorry Andrew, we don't do smoke ;)emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Smoke is just the visible proof that you could have more power ;)

Suppose :giggle: i just like people knowing that they just gone done my a Slow Diesel

235hp pah, wouldnt get out of bed for less than 270hp. :giggle: plus even if you were close my car would have shouted you off with the exhaust

I had my T5 Sportline done by Pendle Performance

http://www.pendleperformance.com/

DPF Delete & EGR turned off...

My MPG is better already,No Smoke,Noticable power increase

Taxation category is as declared by the manufacturer at the time of registration so no change. If it did have to be declared virtualy every tuned car on the road would be breaking the law

Silly as it is you could "theoretically" put a 7 litre V8 in a prius & still pay the same tax although the car made of bacofoil would probably collapse under the weight. The thought of a Prius with side pipes spitting flame does seem strangely appealing though

Can the DPF be put back on if needed and is it classed as a mod so do you need to inform your Insurance company even if you have a re-map that doesn't increase BHP (Stops at 170)
