  • I've done over 8,000 miles in my mk2 Fabia vRS, averging 36.9 mpg. Long motorway drives I achieve 40-48mpg, depending on weather conditions. My most recent long drive, up the M1, M6, 178 miles in to

Just got a fill up, mine has gone down from 34.54mpg to 30.27mpg, but I know I wasn't driving as economically recently.

I am only averaging about 31mpg in my new vRS Tsi. Bearing in mind I got 45-47 mpg out of my old Mk1 Tdi, which was remapped, I expected a bit more, as my commute mainly involves a slow drag up and down the A5 or A45. It is fast though... Lol!

I always got within 1 mpg with my Honda Civics over 40mpg driven as I always do.

New VRS Estate 35mpg driven as I always do, not the claimed 45.6.

No one will ever get near that.

Skoda ought to give out prizes for a combined of over 40 mpg.

However all my driving so far has been in freezing conditions and only 1300 miles on the clock.

VAG trip computers are mostly optimistic to the tune of 10mpg. My Mk1 disesel vRS would indicate 55mpg but when calculated from the tank was always 45mpg. Apply the same to the new VRS and I would expect it to average 35mpg ish. The computer on my Focus ST was alot more acurate but I only used to get around 24mpg from that car, ouch! :giggle:

Glad the new vRS is not a diseasel, petrol power more fun....!

It's the driving/riding style that counts, once the engine has been run in correctly of course ! B)

having driven 200 miles now (mix of motorway and urban) im averging 38.9 MPG :)

22 wots your insurance like on the vrs fabia i dred to think

All the guys with the figures above. are they using 99 ron fuel?

I know if i used Vpower i wouldget an additional 40miles out of a tank compared to 95/97ron.

the other thing with these figures are that when they were tested they would have driven them as gently as possible. people dont really drive them like that. If you do, then why own a vRS.

The way i see it, around town inmy octavia vRS i would be getting around 28mpg at best. Even worse if its a short journey. Motorway 36mpg. if i can get the fabai vRS to get around 33-36 around town ill be more than happy.

my insurance is £375 fully comp with £250 excess :)

I'm 20 mate with a VRS :)

Hi

Has anyone with a VRS been recording their fuel economy (mentally or otherwise)...?

How are you finding it (on which sort of runs) please?

Thanks

J

The only way to be sure is take reading fom tank fill to tank fill. Your speedo is almost certaily 10 per cent fast so that will alter true reading. Check your speedo against satnav.

what are guys getting from a FULL tank then- Combined/motorway

What are you guys getting from a 1/4 of a tank (not including the 3/4 to full point as there will be extra fuel in the pipe to the filler cap)

The manufacturer data says you can fit 45 litres of fuel in, ive found you can normally fit a fair amount more in there in previous cars. what have you found

Roughly 300 miles from 39-40 litres, depending on how it is driven.

Last tank was 260.

Are these figures from bog standard 95 unleaded?

Nope, V-Power mate.

ECU is still bedding in, only on 3rd tank of V-Power at the moment, dealership had it running on 95.

How much is V-power in your area at the moment?

132.9p per litre is what I just paid the other day when filling up.

Ouch!

Ouch!

Indeed. :)

might be ouch but 95 in my area is £1.28 and 98 is £130 so only cost an extra £2 per tank

I think in all its how you drive, I used to have a honda type-r, if i floored it i would proberly get around 22 to the galon, but on long and steady runs with no lead foot i would get around 34 to the gallon, so its all to do with how you drive, must admit when i do get my new vrs i might just have that lead foot, just drive careful and you will see good miles to the gallon.
