Welcome to the forum ;)

Which fabia is it, 1.4mpi? What do you mean 'jumps on 6000 revs'? Sounds a like a pretty funky stunt car to me

yea its 1.4 mpi sorry well it dont jump but like stays at 6000 revs dont go to 7000 at all

Whats the service history like?

its called a rev limiter to protect the engine, the 1.4mpi's only ment to rev to 5500, the 16v's rev to 6250-6500ish

didnt get any wive it lol but its just bin serviced just done a lot off work to it and dont know thats way i think its restricted

If you look at your rev counter, does is start to go red around 5.9k?

yea yea then it will stay there

yea yea then it will stay there

Its supposed too.

Not suprised it needed a timing chain but it might kick a leg out of bed before long

Maybe its a good idea to stay away from that red line where the rev's bounce to avoid any further issues :giggle:

Can i ask this question.

Are you bouncing off the rev limiter?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I was thinking similar, but was going for a pulse jet just for comedy loudness

LOL i wouldnt be making it any faster if you dont even know what a rev limiter is

where did you get your driving license?? a christmas cracker?

  • Author

no not bouncing it just stays there mate

its to stop your engine over revving and causing damage

no not bouncing it just stays there mate

It's not a Vtec! And it's not meant to be driven like one! You've got like 64bhp, If you wanted a Lambo slayer you should have gone for the 2.0l emoticon-0105-wink.gif

What's it like on fuel? ;)

Before you spend money on your Fabia I'd suggest going to college to learn English :giggle:

Let me guess, your Fords and Golfs lasted a few months before they died?

Little bit of advice, the red markings on your rev counter are a warning ya know, red = bad. Sitting a car on the redline isn't going to make it go faster, its going to drink fuel and destroy your engine. Learn to use the little pedal on the left and that pokey stick that comes out of the middle of the car :p

i used to bounce my tsport off the limiter....

and keep the foot on the accelerator while changing gear....

gotta keep it in lift (like vtec)

LOL

the limiter was at 8.2k and if you changed at say 8k it would drop below the change-over point of 6.2k so you had to basically change at the limiter to keep it going

my old teg engined ek9 changed over at 5k and limited at 9.5k.... 4.5k of vtec :o
