wind deflectors...on the vrs?!?

Featured Replies

What do you think to front and rear wind deflectors on the fabia vrs ? yay or nay

please comment thanks.

Restricts the view around A piller (which I find VERY annoying, I also really dislike phones/GPS's there).

Other than that, it looks nice subtle enough, I use it alot in the summer.

I have a set on, and I don't find they restrict visibility at all??

Where can you get these from? R they secure once fitted I've hears about people stealing them

Mine are held in place with double sided foam tape, and they won't come out unless the window is down anyway, so I've got no worries about them being stolen.

Just had a quick look on eBay, and these are the same as I've got on.

i like them on mine - nice and subtle on a black car. Allows freshair without a huge increase in road noise!!

As one approaches a roundabout the view of where the cars are coming from is RHS, view one is of the front windscreen or before the A-pillar location (adjusting speed for roundabout), as one comes closer to the roundabout the view of cars are now on the driver window (second look for double checking if there is no cars and proceed on). The second look is where it obscures the vision.

So, I guess you either look too early (and not look again) or too late if you don't find it restrictive at all, or stop at every roundabout or move your head around when looking :giggle:

Edit: I found it v annoying at first but its not on every roundabout because it depends on speed and size of roundabout, work around is adjusting either my head, or looking an extra time to ensure I can brake to stop if there is a car.

Maybe we just sit differently?

Think again fella!!!!!! Guess what four items Ange had knicked off the vRS whilst parked outside the house over christmas??? And without any of the windows being opened either. :(

Cheers

Dave.

The one's we had on both our's didn't restrict visibility at all... Unless the one's you've seen are a lot bigger than the one's we had...... Or they were painted so were no longer clear.

Ours were the ones Softscoop has linked to in a post above.

Cheers

Dave.

Surely they can't restrict vision as they are clear?

Bugger. Well I guess there are a lot of things on the car that could be stolen easily, so I'm not going to worry about it.

Make sure you get the Heko ones :)

Yep I sometimes struggle to decide if I want to look out the rear passenger window or the front one  the B pillar restricts my view :D

nice motor, looks good.

When ya sell be sure to remove them though..... My 1st thought when ever I see these is..... smoker! But that's just me I guess.

I kinda wish they'd made a lil dummy one for the rear quarter though, not dropping down.. just cutting off the top to keep the line going.

Mine are team heko, and they didn't feel like they'd break at all when fitting?

I think the shorter the front window plus the curvature the more difficult it would be. Fabia and Yaris ones aren't too bad, yes you do need to flex them slightly.. I broke the tip on the end on one of the sides when fitting it to a C class, it was stupidly difficult :dull:.

How did you manage that???? With the window down they're as easy as owt to fit and remove. You just put them in at an angle takes about 15 seconds per deflector. You must have been either fitting them with the window up or pretty heavy handed to break them as they quite flexible. :o

Reviving an old thread, BUT, i bought the same delfectors for my Mk1 fabia VRS, and cannot get them to fit at all. I got them off flea bay, (just the fronts) and ive only attempted the passenger side. At first i didnt have the clips, only the double sided tape, but now thats knackered from the amount of attempts i got the sender to err send me some!

I can get the deflector to slide in no probs, only problem is the window will not go up, it hits the deflector somewhere close to the wing mirror side and shoot straight back down. Even when edging the window up slightly it still wont go up all the way.

Ive not attempted the drivers side yet, as after 30 mins failing, sweating and swearing at the passenger side, i was ready to bin them and put it down to a bad mould/fitment.

Any ideas?? Or anyone in or near Hull that wouldnt mind having a look.

Cheers.

Adam
