Time to go and do the Winter Preparation of the Paint, underside & interior.

Last winter it was all done then i had a wee accident and it needed doing again.

So,

12 months on and 15,000 more miles it needs some TLC before the icy nights and days arrive. looking a little dull & used right now.

It is 4 years 4 months old, covered 45,000 miles and had some MINI  Adventures.

(& some S, ST, R, vRS, RS, VXR, GTI, M, AMG, Type R, TDI type  adventures as well.)

Edited by goneoffSKi

Just had time for a quickie brush up between down pours.  I do like washing cars in the rain,

(& i do like Tesco Wash & Wax. 'Much Cheapness'. between Detailing with Cheapo Waxes.)

But i need to go to Spec Savers or a Chiropractor or both,

because i have missed so much & not only down low at the sill.

Time to fill in what is happening!

Been working on modding the rearlights some more, as the "creator" of it I do have to lead the way ;).

Also, "new" lip in the form of a Seat LCR-lip.

What I do on a rainy Sunday?

Enjoy it ofcourse and work with some companies which are buying stuff from me ;).

A reminder of what still lays hidden in the garage...

Man, I want to install it.

Just missing 2500 £...

Aren't you tempted to get a proper exhaust manifold done? It would be a shame to put in this nice Turbo with this basic log type manifold.

Thought i would revive the thread and put some of my latest pictures on. These are latest with the 40mm H and R springs.

Nice find, Very covert.

I must add Mk2 vRS to my list of cars to watch out for and not to boot mine when one starts closing on me at a rate of knots.

  • 1 month later...

Had my car a week now. I've done some over taking on B roads, where I really floored the accelerator. The power is amazing! The steering felt a bit twitchy/swervy as I overtook, although I was going pretty fast. Is that other people's experience? It doesn't feel that stable I mean.

You can get torque steer, and tyres and tyre pressures can make it quite bad.

So what tyres you have matter, you can change from the 205/40 R 17 to 215/40 R17.

Also the Steering Assist can be adjusted to really it is worth checking what it is set at because someone might have had it with more assistance.

(needs checked on VCDS, also the XDS could have been adjusted so worth checking if on factory setting.)

So I need a electronic tool to do that?

Is it bad to boost the car on a daily basis? I can't stop boosting at every opportunity on my commute. It's so addictive.

Maybe worth doing 5 miles or so first and the oil is a bit hotter.

But if you are just leaving the towns speed limit and a Audi TDI is just 2 foot off you bumper give it laldy..

Anyone ever timed 30-70 mph time? It feels so quick.

Edited by Chibakun

Time your own with something accurate.

You are looking at,

Standard CAVE 30-50 3.2 seconds and 50-70 3.5 seconds

stage 1 CAVE 30-50 2.5 seconds  and 50-70 2.7 seconds

standard,  0-70 8.8 seconds

stage 1,  0-70 7.8

Stage1 CAVE 205 bhp or so are quicker than the official times and real world times of a

Golf GTI's 210 & 230 ps & lots quicker than Golf Mk4 Golf V6 4Motion 204ps

CTHE 1.4TSI on Super Unleaded also quicker than the Golfs.

Plenty Straight Line videos on the go, and ones on the track,

this is where it can really shine. & use the box as suits you..

?

Who has this car now?

(Not on DVLA Database or ASKMID, Personal Plate or Scrapped.?)

your DSG had the Service Campaign. 34f7

Ask Skoda UK Customer Services.

there was a Service Campaign for Heated Seats.

Then find out if you had Oil Consumption tests,

Breather Mod and Software Updates,

The Oil Consumption test and have they done Oil Spray Jets, Software Update, replaced failing Spark Plugs.

They need to say.

To check any outstanding.

Thanks, the salesman said there are no other recalls unsurprisingly. I have sent a message to customer support.

Have you ever managed to loose control of your VRS? I can feel the back end lift when I go into corners at 50+ mph. It's a bit unnerving, I'm not sure if it will spin and I'll lose control.

Only on purpose so that is not losing control. That is Styleeeeee

What tyres are fitted.?

Do you know if the Rear Ballast weights are still on the crash bar?

Does it have lowering springs fitted and a rear ARB.

Not my pictures or cars.

From, Top Gear @ Hardknott Pass

& vRSPowereds how to remove weights.

(Can make the back end light (Skittery) if you remove and the spare wheel and then not move the battery to the boot.)

With the right suspension setup can give better grip to the drive wheels though. (FWD).
