so a Mk2 vRS should be able to stay out the ditch on the road with the right tyres.

Mines a stock car with Kumho tyres which are new. I'll check to see which type tyres.

Have you had it from new to know it is stock?

Plenty buy used and unless checking they are unaware of changes like Springs, rear weights on or off, XDS, Steering Assists, Brake Assist changed from Factory setting or even a remap on the ECU.

Offski - checked your link where you check for outstanding recalls etc... am I right to assume if I just get the dear customer and no outstanding that is actually the case? Is it better digging with these cars or just playing ignorant? All I can say is it ticks more boxes than crosses but I am naturally wary...

No idea of the accuracy now of that VIN checker, 

best check with a Skoda Dealership or Customer Services but they have said no Service Campaign outstanding with the likes of a DSG where later it turns out there is.  Even ask Skoda UK Customer Services in writing / email

Wow your discs are really bad, i am still on original discs and pads (according to service logs) but I am replacing with EBC's and redstuff pads soon. Starting to rust a bit now

 

Time to sort the handling out this year! 

So its uprated Brakes, Pirelli 215's front, then come service time Front & Rear RARB, (with possibility of coilovers)

 

One question though i rung skoda about my suspension setup and they said i had SPORTS SUSPENSION to the rear, the rear does feel firmer, but the front feels like it dips when going around roundabouts, sometime it feels like the tyres are skating, and the dunlops have plenty of tread left.

 

anyway what does sports suspension exactly mean on MK2 VRS?

'Sports Suspension' means nothing, it means the vRS has standard vRS Suspension, standard springs. (Not cheap as OEM replacements.)

You also got 'Dealer Fit Option', Springs that could be fitted.

 

The Pirelli Zero Nero in 215/40 R 15 are better than in 205/40 R 17 but i would give them a miss, they are tough but rubbish. (stand up to potholes)

I have 4 in my shed and they would only go on if i wanted to go do a Autotest and handbrake turns, they are very slippy and actually crap.

 

Better look for decent 215/40 R17 tyres with good grip/traction.

It's been a good while since I posted in here but I still love the furby, enough to even consider buying it at the end of my pcp!

I'm also not sure about 0-60 in 5s and his 'just buy a 2013 on and you'll be fine' comment (posters on here had issues with early CHTEs).

Four and a half years later, still looking good and loving it :-)

Re Dandanfings & his Mk2 Fabia vRS,

he was / still is a member here so maybe read his posts and threads in the section of BRISKODA, and see him have a CTHE ECU opened for a APR Stage 1 remap that never happened.

I'm using Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 205/40 at the moment and have been happy with them, a lot quieter than the Sport Contacts supplied with the car and not felt lacking wet or dry so far. Not usable in snow mind.

Those Engine Replacement costs are way higher than the cost that was invoiced for members here that have had engines replaced, as is the gearbox, 

then there is Labour Cost shown over and above.

The number of sets of wheels is unreal then the car is pictured on wheels that are not Gigaro's.

 

Supercharger Magnetic Clutch & Water pump comes in at under £600 including labour.
