50k miles! Must be one of the highest mileage vRS's here. Beautiful lake side!

Forgot to add that I am also looking at fitting eibach springs too. Only fit the LEDs last night but had no problems with them up to now. Fitted first time, no warning on dash or anything and no flickering noticed, so looking good. Will be adding some to interior lights soon. I went with canbus free ones from fizzmo eBay. 36mm Festoon.

Not sure with the Columbus unit yet mate. Been keeping an eye out on eBay. They seem to be going for 300/350 for used one. I've also noticed some cheaper make units from china. 217 odd quid for a new unit which is great considering the spec but not sure if I trust them haha...

No money for any more mods right now so will have to wait but LEDs are what I want to do before long nights descent on us again.

Problem with fleebay Columbus units is that they might be from unknown source if you know what I mean.

The Chinese knock offs some people bought here but I cannot remember how they fared with them.

I'm in this club also.

My car was from the very first production batch and still surviving (minimal oil consumption)

Mine hit 40000 miles today

71K miles.  CSMA Warranty taken out to cover it.

I see the twin charge is the International Engine of the Year in the 1 litre to 1.4 Litre category.   Is that forth if fifth year running?

I've only had her for 4 days and already have a big stone chip and micro dent on the bonnet.

At least I got the chance to giver her a good polish & wax yesterday!

Ben, Lovely colour scheme - it needs lowering kit mate :).

I am in Welwyn Garden so if on A414 we could be seeing each other :)

i have 75k miles on mine living Dangerous with no Warranty, just had Alternator go, and had to change coil packs for misfires

Thanks mate, I'm trying to resist the urge to lower just yet but it does need it!

The A414 is where I think I picked up the stone chip! F@cking quarry and it's bloody trucks, I use it on my route to work. I'm normally over at WGC twice a week at 1RM (gym) so I'll keep my eyes peeled!

MOT no 2 Passed.

Last year a new drivers seat base was required as the seat did not move, nothing this year.

Built early June Mk2 vRS, First Registered July 2010.

Original Engine still in at 38,000 miles, not an Oil user,

but then its only the Engine thats original not all the components in the engine.

(Trigger's broom)

So before it was 3 years old the Dark Chrome Gigaros were all replaced under warranty, 2 that were replaced were then replaced again.

The front and rear Skoda Roundels were replaced because of white spider, the seat base and thats about it.

Windscreen replaced twice now, accident damage so a new bonnet, grill, head light etc

Tyres and wiper blades replaced a few times, but thats just my rubber fetish.

So really just a pretty good car thrashed regularly and the thing that introduced creaks and rattles was fitting Pirelli Zero Neros,

still on now.

Interior looks pretty much Factory fresh without any wear and tear.

A 'Keeper'.

Pirelli p zero Nero gives you squeaks and rattles?

Time to fill in what is happening!

Been working on modding the rearlights some more, as the "creator" of it I do have to lead the way ;).

Like the lip!

Was it easy to put on? Did you just use some sort of 'glue' to fix it on? or does it come with specific fitting equipment. IE did you have to modify anything to fit it?

Would be interested in getting one if not too hard :)

It's a Seat Leon Cupra-lip.
Cut it down in the middle in the fasteningpoints so it's flat.

Screw it tightly there and continue out to the edges.
Use a heatgun / hairdryer to make the plastic bendable.
Bend it to the right shape, screw it to place and keep at it until you're at the end.

Cut off the rest that is sticking out :).

He is my favourite for getting a laugh,

check out his Test on the Seat Leon Cupra 280, it is also a Racing Car.

Very nice mate. I was looking at a yellow estate before I went with my black one. I just worried that it might be too much in the estate version but the hatch looks awesome

Thought I would give my little review of the car.

I bought the car primarily because my dad has one, an 08 plate 1.4 tdi. He has had his from new with nearly 160k on the clock and has not skipped a beat. The only things he has had to pay out on is a set of brakes and tyres. This prompted me to try the skoda route.

The car I bought was a 61 plate with 32k on the clock. Now my first touch on the skoda marque has been a bit up and down with the fact the car is having a new engine 2 months into ownership. But that aside the car is fantastic.

Power:

Now I am used to quick cars having had a few in the past but the acceleration in great. There is no lag and any gear it just wants to pull. The power does not come in lumps like some of my previous but in a smooth progressive amount right through the rev range, (even though it does smoke a bit!!!). I have not tried any of the the modifications available to the car.

DSG:

The gearbox took a lot of getting used to and even now sometimes I forget its a semi auto. It is a very clever box and is very smooth. On my route to work I have chance to use most of the settings so I tend to go between the 'D' and the paddles. The 'S' mode is not really used much as it would use too much fuel and as its 60miles a day is a major factor.

Handling:

The car sits high compared to my previous cars but it does cope well. Like said earlier I haven't tried any mods yet but the first 2 on my list would be the coilovers and the RARB. The suspension is nice and subtle but it is tough over the rougher roads. It does roll but not as much as I thought it would. I had tried a estate which I have to say didn't roll quite as much.

Interior:

The interior is practical but not the most inspiring of places to sit. The seats are very good and supportive, not quite like the VXR seats, but still very comfortable. I am looking to do a bit of updating of the interior but using some carbon fibre wrap.

Exterior:

The exterior looks brilliant. I have got the additional black pack with the dark headlights and I think it looks great. I added the mudflaps to give it a finished rear end. I think it looks good from all angles and the aggressive looks take away from the boxy styling. The wheels are a great shape too and really suit the car.

All in all a very good car and will be even better once the engine is fixed and is at 100% working.

On a recent trip to Kerry in the South West of Ireland

Very green up there. Countryside as well. :sun:

A few of the (small) changes I have made to my car over the last year.

1. Black Monte grille

2. Arch gap after Eibach Pro-Kit springs fitted.

LatestChanges002_zpsdd85a0ef.jpg

3. Tint 39% Side & Rear Windows (legal here but the overcast probably makes it look darker than it really is)

LatestChanges003_zps6328182f.jpg

4. Silver Valve Covers

LatestChanges004_zps29cd2cd9.jpg

5. Breather Mod #2 (visible hose connected to throttle body near airbox, previous was mostly hidden under engine cover) - apologies for fuzziness.

LatestChanges005_zps2983be97.jpg

6. Slightly wider shot (but still hampered by the room in my driveway)
