All Fabia's have the same size tank (9.9 gallon, IIRC)

Mine will fit 57.73L which is 12.7 Gallons. So including the expansion tank the capacity it atleast 12.7G.

I'm absolutely convinced that the computers sensitive to the time of year it was calibrated. As mine is bang on towards the end of spring and the end of summer, but out the rest of the time.

and the mode 2 mpg on mine is almost always around the high 40's... now look at my sig which is calculated by fuel used / miles traveled. filled click to click every time.

we have a caravan in cornwall and live near ish to leeds ,going down with a full car i.e dogs luggage ect we get to st agnes on a little over half a tank ,then running about the buzzer goes off at about 480 miles

its an 02 sdi ,the reserve buzzer comes on at 1.5 galls dosnt it?

one thing i do find is that nursing it dosnt seem to make a differance ,what does help is making the most of gravity on the a30 hills to climb up the other side (hate it when a caravan pulls in front and lose all that momentum),oh yes and a tail wind helps a fair bit :smirk:

Right, after the service it still doesnt seem as high as i would of thought it could be. Thinking of swapping my air filter and see if that helps solve the problem. any recomendations for a new one? cheers

My personal best from the 45L tank found in the Fabia/Ibiza was 940 odd IIRC, It did actually have another 100 or so miles left in the tank, but I cba to stop half way back from Scotland, so just filled up as we set off.

Otherwise id have got over 1,000 miles to a single tank of fuel (diesel of course!)

i got £69.49 in using my expansion tank (got 56.54L) and that was in april last year.

824 Miles with 15 showing as left on the range, took 54.68L to fill back to the brim - and that was last week!

85 Mile a day commute, motorway and A-road with a combination of Miss Daisy driving and sitting in queues and a bit of driving it like I stole it.

how the heck did you get that many miles from a single fill???

I keep meaning to get some Millers and give it a try.

I'm just curious - there are lots of Diesel additives out there that claim to do the same thing - clean injectors etc. yet everyone on here always mentions Millers in particular. Why?

I put in £13 (random i know) and only managed about 110 miles (mostly motorway) at 70 mph. No bad driving or anything. So im thinking about changing the air filter soon. Any other ideas?

what is all this about the expansion tank on the fabia? do they all have this? if so how is it utilised?

My fabia has been re-mapped and I get around 400-450 miles to a tank dependant on how it is driven and the types of trips made.

Little valve just inside the filler hole, push it in while filling, and you will get quite a bit more fuel in the tank.

I never fill right up. I always fill half way. Why drag around the extra weight?.

because it's a pain in the ass going to the petrol station twice as often

Fifteen squid last's me all week :) . Compared to my old Mazda 323f Sport (1 of only 500) that ate a tenner of petrol every couple of days  . (town driving). I average about 44 mpg on the short 4 mile drive to work.

I usually get over 500 miles to a brim full tank and thats with all sorts of driving but recently been on a few long trips and have seen over 600 miles to a tank :)

I usually get 400m to a tank. Been off work the past week and driving everywhere with my wife. managed 260m to half a tank. It's definately more economical taking my wife with me, but it seems to take me longer to get anywhere :p

Managed 632 miles this tank - 55 litres, using the vent technique.

how are you guys seeing these figures?

Makes me think something is up with mine... Just done, Dover - Santa Pod - Dover.

got lost on the way home ended up doing 50mph 90% of the way and i have only just got 350miles to the tank.

New Paper air filter in the other month, service was done a couple of months ago.......

i just dont get how you guys are seeing 600+ miles.....

My avridge trip to work is a 50mile round trip on a motorway..... but not seeing anything like that!

By My calculations you guys are getting close to 60mpg!

Do you all do 40mph everwhere in 4th? and dont change gear just stay like that all you can????? :(
