More VRS problems!

Featured Replies

Finally got around to giving the VRS a looking over - changed oil - oil filters - fuel filters. i also went over everything to make sure its winter sleep hasnt hurt it (other than the flat battery) Also sorted the drivers side door lock - dried out the interior (rear door seals leak)

I took the car out on Friday night - gave it a run upto temp - then gave it a good blast along a B-road I love. No problems. Went back to it to take the kids out swimming on Sunday morning - as soon as I started it up the water level light came on. Just topped it up and took it out - couldnt see any problems on any of the connectors pipes for the raditor - checked the heatermatrix bulkhead pipes. no leaks there - plus no crusty marks on the carpet from any coolant.

Brought the car home tonight - warning lights again - so got it back upto the lockup - got it up on the ramps - and saw the coolant running down the front of the radiator.

Looks like a new Radiator to add to the list!

K Seal is your friend for a tenner.

Did my 'weeping' rad. 2 years ago, and it's still ok.

Incredible stuff.

+1 for K-seal

Sealed up my leaking radiator several months ago, and everything has been fine since.

A new rad required mate, the trouble with sealants is they can last years or could easily let you down the next day.

ANYTHING can break down and fail on any car, at anytime, that's why the majority of us join a breakdown recovery service.

I and many many others rate K Seal extremely highly, and they don't come much more cynical than me for these so called wonder cures/fixes. Check the comments from very satisfied customers on their web site.

There's sealants and there's K Seal.

I'll just stump up for a new rad - maybe even have a go and stripping it and doing it myself. The front end has to come apart for the FMIC anyway! :)

Rad went on mine last July bud (53-plate) - is fairly common on the older vrs's.

Pretty much a 2 hour job but fairly straight forward. Make sure you shop around to get the best price for the rad.

Raw egg into the coolant!

Are you a K Seal salesman? or have shares in the Co. ? :giggle:
