wind/rain deflector set from Superskoda

Have been waiting for responses on this one because I'm thinking of purchasing some for the front windows - I'm fed up opening them to talk with someone and the rain come pouring in!!

Any advice would be appreciated

I wish someone here in the UK would buy these in bulk so we could purchase them without the added cost of high postage. Would def be interested in some.

They look to be the same as the HEKO ones I fitted. They are certainly well made, a perfect fit and work reasonably well. They reduce, but do not stop, water running off the roof &/or roof rails and into the car when stationery with windows wide open, but they do cut down on the amount of rain that comes into the car whilst driving, and reduce buffeting too. They are particularly good when you are parked, as you can leave the windows open about an inch without any rain getting in at all. Excellent on a hot day.

But.. and there is a but, I found the increase in wind noise created by the front deflectors when driving at speed rather annoying and subsequently took them off again. No such problems with the ones for the rear doors though. Totally silent.

The other problem is that initially, when closing the windows, the driver's door window lift detected the deflector and 2 or 3 times out of 10, would drop the window down again. Eventually, it settled down but was annoying at first.

Finally, if you have rain sensing wipers, you will have to disable the auto window closing on Maxidot if you want to leave the windows slightly open when the car is locked as they will automatically close if it rains!

So, yes I would recommend the rear ones, but not the fronts unless you can put up with the wind noise or you rarely drive long distances on motorways. Anyone want a pair of hardly used front deflectors - as new?!!! :giggle:

Do these reduce the amount of water running along the side windows (blocking mirror view!!) in heavy rainfall?

A bit, but not a lot! I treat the side windows with Rain-X periodically, or Autoglym glass cleaner, both of which help enormously with repelling water on the side windows. I had a Fabia loan car the other week, and I was appalled by how badly the untreated side windows become obscured by rain water. I'd forgotten what a difference the treatment makes, and I certainly reapply it only very infrequently to my Yeti's windows. However, I never use it on the swept area of the windscreen as I cant put up with the flare that you then get from oncoming cars' headlights..

Yep, did a search - didn't really anser my question, but thanks for the suggestion

I wanted front deflectors but having read your post I may just put up with the problem (which no doubt we all experience - can't just be me?)

I might be interested in those!

Are you doing the Mid Wales Stages?

I don't think I'll be fitting them again, so if you are interested Graham, I'm happy to part with them.

No, I'm not doing Mid Wales Stages - instead I'm running 3 tests on Tour of Cheshire on Saturday, & making an exhibition of myself at the NME (model engineering show) at Event City by the Trafford Centre on Sunday. Bad timing actually, because both David Mitchell and Jerry (Yety) were on North West Stages and could have acted as courier.

Apart from the Northern Indoor Motor Show (Event City, 24/25th March) ToC is likely to be my last event before my own season starts at Aintree in April.

If you are interested, PM me - no rush, they are nice & safe in my indoor parts store on top of a wardrobe. (Don't tell SWMBO - she doesn't know there's anything up there!!).

PM sent

I think they look a bit tweed cardigan, pipe and slippers.

Maybe on an Estelle?.........

PM replied!

I ordered mine from milotec.de and very satisfied.

Didnt encounter wind noise, or elec. windows disfunction, never.

But, there was some sort of squeking few month after instalation, but now everuthing is fine.

I would purchase them again.

Here's the picture I never wanted to post (showing my new registration number  uh, humm). Odd how the Team Heko wind deflectors don't seem to show from face on. They do the job as advertised; but they are not perfectly designed. They fit perfectly ~ however the angles are ever so slightly off, and the mirrors touch them when folded.

Got some rainex on my side window, it rained a day later, wow what a difference! I can now use my external mirrors!! lol
