Right over the past few weeks of reading through this part of the forum i cant help notice a lot of posts are, my cars gone bang, what does this rattle clonk bang noise mean, how much to fix ect ect. So to brighten the forum up a bit i want everyone to say one thing they love about there fabia, no negitivity only good things, it could be a common mod that you love, could be the colour of the dials, even the shape of the steering wheel, lets think positive and cheer this place up. ill go first.

I love the fact that quite a few people look at my car and think "it's just a skoda pah" then the look on there face when it does what it does......

The replacement parts were cheap! :p

But in seriousness, the relative comfort and performance for the price and considering rivals. And the gearbox was brilliant! (Compared to what I have now, anything is an improvement GB wise.)

When your at the lights (preferably on anti skid) sat way back from the white line. The person in the civic next to you looks accross, The light goes green POW! lol

Best of both worlds, speed AND economy

Insurance :p

20 years old, wrote off a previous vRS already, lost no claims and insurance is still only £1200.

Its sat on the drive ready to be sold... :giggle:

:giggle:

Above all else.....its the PD130 engine......

I ran an Audi for 9 years with the same engine in the VRS.

400ft/lbs of torque always makes me smile

50mpg

fantastic all rounder! brilliant fuel economy, good performance yet docile enough to teach people to drive in :)

the midrange pull, fuel economy and suprising most

Its f***ing quick

Tax is f***ing bargain @ £110 p.a.

Insurance is f***ing cheap, even with modded cover "300bhp"

It's subtle, economical, looks decent (for a fabia....) and I love it!

[sorry for the f***ing swearing ;)]

1.9TDI Elegance Estate

Seats are comfy , good on diesel , great gears , heated seats, cruise control and now that i no longer pay for the loan the car is even better.

i love not having to touch the throttle on the motorway just let the cruise controll do all the work.

and the latest thing... i've learnt how to drift the fabia with my whiteline rarb the missis doesn't share my joy though.

erm and i love how much better it looks from the front with an LCR splitter. black inserts in the headlights, colour coded grille and i have eyebrows on mine too might not be to everyones taste but it looks mean imo

Fabia 1.9 SDI

Pro's - 70+ MPG if you drive with anticipation, cheap servicing, cheap insurance, bulletproof engine

Con's - I'll eventually have to sell it some day :(

:smirk:

It looks good to my eyes, goes nicely, is great on fuel, can do long journeys without leaving me tired, has a great spec (I had cruise control, heated seats and a 1.9TDi engine at the age of 18!) and just generally does absolutely everything I want from a car. I slightly love it :)

And it's fun to mod B)

This is great, this is how the forum should be, apart from a few the fabia is not mind blowin crazy quick it's just enough to be a whole world of fun, but even the non vrs seem to give the same amount of fun in different ways I mean what a car the fabia really is, i just thought for some of the newbies here they would be reading this forum and just see problems, well read this because it's so much more, sure they may break down but what 5, 6, 7, year old car doesnt.

Looks good with tinted glass and a Leon splitter. People who Think they know about cars get a shock when they're driven in it, but best bit is still the way they pull like a train no matter what. Never get tired with that!

I like the appearance and the element of surprise is always there... Not many people expects a diesel Skoda to be flashing Astra VXR's, Type R's, remapped Cupra R's (etc) out of the way. :)

i also love the fact that no matter how full your car is or no matter how steep a hill your going up it doesn't bother it one bit.

I don't have one of those exciting beats everything else on 4 wheels VRS's, so can't say it goes like stink , MPG is not its strong point (see sig), neither is the tax at £180, but the insurance isn't bad now - 30 years old, license 4 years, 4 years no claims £220 when I add the GF as a named driver. That's less than half what I paid last year, but then again I have moved from one of the worst possible areas for crime to a better one.

TBH the only things I can think of are it goes from A to B  and has a relatively good driving position for me being 6'3" the leccy sunroof is nice but would rather have air con.

It goes from A to B but does it go to C? :p

The solidity, 45+mpg and relatively effortless performance.

Wish it did 1st and 2nd gear better and was maybe a little quieter on cruise...

Good paint finish, excellent reliability, friendly dealers and the knowledge that I got a proper bargain!

Oh, and the other owners seem like nice bunch too!

Seriously, most Audi drivers are male chickens.

Cheap enough to be able to pay cash to buy it. Cheap to run, even with the mods on mine I'm still getting just over 50mpg on my regular commute making good progress, tax is £120 a year. I've chucked nearly 8000 miles on it since October so I need something reliable, fun to drive (I'm in the car 12 hours+ a week) and cheap to run.

Sound base for tweaking as it shares a lot of parts with the rest of the VW family.

Good community, excellent specialist mechanics.

Reasonable Q car, always seems to evoke some surprise when it flys past more expensive metal.

Only downsides is the expense I'm facing for my next power hike, bigger injectors, some work on the engine internals and possibly a bigger turbo, so I'd be looking at spending the same as what I've already spent including buying the car, again. :(
