but the door leds are illegal white light facing backwards :p

what did you do the footwells with? i put some old number plate holders in there to keep oem look, also wired in a switch to turn them on and off as they only come on with the doors open which kinda defeated the point for me as i was always dropping stuff on the floor and didnt want to have to open the door if going along to look for stuff lol

It's just a led strip. About 8 LEDs. On a sticky strip. Wired to my courtesy light. I only wanted them to come on when opening doors etc

Nice shoes :giggle:

I agree - but looking at that picture and bearing in mind the doors don't open 90deg, I reckon if someone was clever they could make a shield, either solid or in red plastic so that the rearward pointing element of the light was either blanked or reddened, but white light still shone towards the car and downwards. I'd certainly be wary of just fitting white bulbs for fear of drawing attention to the car from any Police cars behind...

Of course they're not on when driving - and in any case the doors are closed at that point - but if you're stopped in front of a Policeman and open the door he'll see it! If he's nothing else to do at that point he's likely to come over and investigate...

If you see a policeman behind you, just climb out the window. B)

....................... Without having an image of the 4th side you wont know how many people is actually in the room......... So its a bit ambiguous of the meaning in that pic.

I think it looks good mate, nice shoes and i remember the shoes TrevorB33 posted up haha.

DRJ i don't meen to single you out but you just need to chill out about the police its not like your gunna get banged up over some bloody puddle lights just because theyre white.

on the off chance you do get done just say it came like that when you bought the car, you wasn't aware etc etc and they'd just tell you to change 'em. The police i've come in contact with have always complimented me on how the car looks never really had a bad cop if your rite with them theyre rite with you.

Simples.

Perfectly Legal to have whitte lights in the doors:

As per my previous post (http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/186826-superskoda-white-led-door-lights/page__p__2233989entry2233989)

Since the argument was raised, my car passed it's mot, I asked a copper what he thought -"looks good mate!"

No white light shows to the rear when in motions, so therefore no issue.

As per previous post:

Ok, so I checked the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations (gah I'm sad), and its absolutely fine :thumbup: :

(2) No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which is capable of showing any light to the rear, other than a red light, except–

(a)amber light from a direction indicator or side marker lamp;

(b)white light from a reversing lamp;

©white light from a work lamp;

(d)light to illuminate the interior of a vehicle;

etc etc

IF they are LEGAL why does SKODA and EVERY OTHER MANUFACTURER whose door light I've seen do them in RED !!!!!!

They are illegal if showing white light to the rear if the doors are open !!!!!

If you want to draw attention to your car and find a copper then investigating your illegally tinted lights and windows then, please, DO this modification!

We have and will continue doing so. Don't worry yourself about it.

dads octavia has white plastic on the puddle lights, half white half red. IF it WAS ILLEGAL to have white light shining to the rear of the car then IT would NOT be half white and half red. theres no law saying how much white light is allowed lol so the white section of the plastic is precisely measured to ensure that only a certain amount of white light is emitted. its either illegal or its not. and ITS NOT!

LOL

these threads make me laugh

Only whilst the vehicle is in motion. And I've not got illegal headlights or tints thanks. I'm not drawing attention to myself in no way.

Some people need to bore off on here. It tends to be the people with no mods on there car that are boring and complain a lot.

Don't worry - I'm not reporting anyone in this thread to the Police...
