New Octavia Release Date!

Featured Replies

I have to agree Huck,

no sneek peek no nothing..

if the car was at the dealers in 6months they would need to be moving in to full production come sept...?

and we have seen nothing?

I think there's a line break getting into the URL - it's on the screen when I hover the link, and in the URL when I click on it, but it isn't in my edit screen. Can someone help out here?

The "

" bit definitely doesn't belong there - and I didn't put it there!

Take away the spaces and you should get there:

http: // www.auto.t-online.de / news_uebersicht / auto_technik_display.jhtml? repId=%2Fcontentrepositories%2 FDE_de_News_carReport RepositoryXML%2FXML%2FNews8615.xml

Alternatively, click on the link in this message elsewhere: http://beta.prikpagina.nl/read.php?f=296&i=6536&t=6536 (and never mind the Dutch ramble)

Not working for me either. Just get a blank page on the one that Jane posted, and the other displays the main site but where the story should be is blank

Second link works of Dutch's last post..........

......I like the look of the new Estate/Combi. Definate Fabia styling clues; may too much though unless this is the new corporate look. Looks very elegant and stylish.

Might have to ask Ian do do an RS version of it in paintshop.;)

Cheers.

Adrian.

agree, looks very stylish.

Thank God! :)

Then I won't bother opening a Feedback thread on this one, but Colin might still be interested how a straight copy-and-paste URL gets mangled after posting...

looks like a p-shopped fabia estate, too much so to be genuine.. Hmmmmm!

RS and 4x4 versions will be done tonight though :D

If you fancy a laugh - stick the page through babel fish and try to make sense of it. Obviously German auto writers are as wordy as their English counterparts!!

My guess too.

Then again, without a running prototype, how else can you visualize a future design direction? The point is whether this is a genuine Skoda design direction...

The article doesn't tell, believe me, Howard!

So you say that our friendly day tripper (amongst others) has a MY04 on his hands - if he pulls through, that is - while I have one of the last MY03s?

If built 31.03.03 or earlier, then MY03. ETKA Rev 6.2 shows parts for MY04 models but not VINs. Doubtless later versions do.

so how do i tell if my car is my03 or my04?

PM me the VIN and I will see if I can decode it.

Yes, Mattijs, I know , just found the babelfish translation funny. ;)

The photo's in the first posts are very suspect. This site shows the exact same pic (different colour) as the new Jetta (Bora for the Eu).

As for the Fabia looking Octavia, it's published in Auto Motor Und Sport. They are known for their "exclusive" pics of new models, so well, that they published a completely different facelifted Punto, just a week before it was officially shown ;)

Great Photoshop pics Ian, I did like the monster 4x4 particularly much. I may have a use for it as the road works on the M60 widening project are about to start this month when the kids break up for summer. I am sure with wheels like those that traffic jams would become much more fun!

lol, M60 widening, oh joy!!!!

Where are they starting?

  • Author

ooh, one more post and it's 1000!!! that needs a new thread I think!!

<- heh, appropriate for the ambulance!!!!

Lovely, like the bottom of the M61 isn't gridlocked most mornings anyway!!

Well, that was my 1000'th post, and like the other 999, it was pretty informative :D

Right, had a play in photoshop - tried not to make them too extreme - more "production viable".

4x4 and RS estate design studies:

newuns.txt

like the RS...

Not too extreme? That "RS" looks like it's waiting for some Citro
