Track Car

Featured Replies

Rovers do make great track cars. That 216 wouldnt be great as it stands, I had one just like that once and it was a dog (car and engine). Worst Rover i ever had. There is still potential tho.

As robin said, the mk3 (bubble shape cars)are the ones to have. Even the base models handle incredibly well out of the box. Vi's and Gti's are still quick cars now.

Im doing a set of blog entries now on comparing my mk3 R200 against my ST. I wont give the result of the track lap times yet, but the fact im comparing a 15 year old 200bhp car against a 300bhp state of the art hatch gives some idea of how well the 200's can handle.

The Newer Z's are even better than the Rovers. My 200 is carrying a few ZR parts! The ZS is an amazing handling road car, but one we tried struggled on a tight track.

You can also get a 2ltr and 2ltr turbo coupe but the Honda engine in the 216 is better

This is completly wrong. The T16, particualary in turbo'd guise is an incredible unit and better £ for £ than any Honda engine. Its just as, if not more reliable and much cheaper to tune.
