Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI CR DSG Delivery time

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI CR DSG on order from Mid November, still haven't got a proposed build date, never mind a confirmed one!! Latest from the dealers who are as frustrated as I am is that the order has been accepted by the factory, but that is as much as they can find out. Spoke to Skoda customer services who don't know anything else and seem to be incapable of contacting the factory to get clarification. Have been told by dealer and skoda uk that it will probably be June or July 2011 before it gets built!! Anyone else having the same problem?? Got told by a VW dealer that the delay is due to most of the available 2.0 diesel engines being diverted to the chinese market at the expense of european deliveries and orders. Think Skoda uk owe customers waiting a factual explanation as their literature and web site still say they can deliver in 10 to 12 weeks. This is patently untrue!! My dealer tells me that they are now losing custom due to the long delays. What happened to the world beating customer service Skoda UK boast openly about, they haven't answered any of my questions??

I don't understand all these delays either, I ordered my 2.0 CR L&K estate on 06/12/2010, it was built 28/01 and currently awaiting a ship at Emden for hopefully a March 1st delivery.

Either, I am the luckiest git in the world, or its just pot luck................

Some have said that my car may have been a cancellation, but as I had downgraded the car from full leather to half leather/alcantara, yet still kept the heated seats front and back, apparently this is an highly unusual combination, this was confirmed by both the dealer and SUK.

Maybe its the combination of DSG and CR engines thats causing the delay.

I agree the customer service has taken a knock with these delays I am sure they are sick of not being able to get anywhere so just don't try very hard. I had to plead beg and threaten to get them to take more of my money adding another option after order placed so silly and bad business.

I have a friend who ordered a manual Scout as a company car in early December and is in the same position as you, no proposed or confirmed build date but looking like June/July. I think it is inevitable that Skoda will lose some business over this length of delay.

Must be a diesel problem. Ordered my 2.0T Vrs on 24th jan and have a build date as week 13 so that's March with delivery I would guess being April. Mine may get delayed still but at least I have some sort of progress. Feel for you there cause I hate waiting

Went to my dealer yesterday to pay remainder of my deposit.Ordered 2.0 cr Vrs 6th December, originally build week 14,then 9 now 11.They say it could change again, must be patient as I am now committed to it.

I ordered my 2.o TDI CR Scout at the start of September and got delivery last week. Fairly standard but with addition of heated seats. Dealer told me it was the knock on effect of the recession hitting when car production all but stopped throughout the VW Audi group. Anyway...the car has broken down twice in the last 3 days...suspected faulty water pump. The coolant header tank has emptied itself twice. Not a good start.

I ordered my TDi Scout (with lots of extras) on 22nd November 2010. I knew there was a 26 week lead time so I am not expecting the car until late May (at the earliest). Every dealer I spoke to told me this, as did Drive the Deal who I eventually took the plunge with. Skoda UK customer services are giving out the same message. I didn't have a provisional build week until 8 weeks after I'd ordered it (about mid/end of January), then it was quoted as build week 19 (1st week of May) but for the last couple of weeks there's been no build week showing at all. I don't think it's Skoda being personal or lying to anyone, there's just a long lead time. It'll turn up when it turns up.

Depends on your dealer and who they speak to in Skoda. I ordered my Scout in December and when I asked about delays before I ordered I was told by the dealer (who had spoken to Skoda) that it would be delivered in March. They even gave me this in writing. Of course, back in the real world, the last update was a build week at the end of May. So at the very least Skoda UK are giving out conflicting information.

Oh I see, seems like Skoda UK, and their dealers, need to get their communications sorted. There's a world of difference between being told 3 months lead time when the reality is more like six (or more)!

I was in Czech rep. last week and "credible sources" from airport baggage handlers in Prague Airport have confirmed that cars for UK RHD are made by retired old Skoda workers who instead of retiring have choose to hang around and work a little on UK line. B)

Europe gets any Skoda within 12 weeks of ordering.

My order for a TDI Scout was accepted on Sept 29th for an 'estimated delivery' of later February, that became March, then week 19th and now there isn't even a build week confirmed. I am hoping for May, maybe June, but either way 8 months delivery for a Skoda is rediculous. Both Skoda UK and the Dealer have been pretty hopeless but I don't think that they know much either.

8 months! Jeeez that's getting worse. I agree dealers /Skoda need to get totally honest with this. Must admit I might have gone elsewhere if I had known which says a lot. We did get £150 in M&S vouchers for the delay from Skoda UK when the car arrived.

I ordered a diesel Scout last July. The build week jumped around all over the place and at one point in early October delivery was estimated to be last week of Feb 2011.

When Skoda then insisted the car would have to be registered on a 60 plate I telephone the dealer to cancel my order on the grounds they were unable to provide me with a car. By some strange miracle my car had jumped to being made that very week and I took delivery of it at the end of October.

Make of that what you will, but the car is excellent and worth the wait. When I collected it the dealer showed me an email he had received from Skoda with current delivery times, diesel Scouts were 6 months. I suspect part of the problem is Dealers telling customers what they want to hear to get the business instead of the true delivery times.

I had a seven month wait for my Scout, which I collected on 31 January. There were no signifciant options, just spare wheel, MDI and MF steering wheel. I didn't at any stage find out a confirmed build date - I merely found out that the car was waiting at Port in Germany when I called for a progress update! The dealer had no knowledge of the Skoda Compensation scheme - presumably, I will have to take this up with Skoda UK directly.

I hope I'm wrong for your sake but I think your delivery date will jump around the first date they give is provisional and the date is only set in stone one week before the build is due to start. As i said my problem isn't with the wait it is what it is, all I want is Skoda to be up front with me and tell me what the problem is!!

I ordered my Scout end of March 10 as I was informed by the broker that Skoda was putting its prices up, (never got that confirmed!) and even with several options, (front parking sensors, curtain airbags) the car arrived end of June 10, some 12-13 weeks after order. I did get a last of the line 2.0 PD TDi, and not the CR TDi, so maybe that had something to do with it arriving quickly.

I would like to think that if VW intends to take over from Toyota as 'World No.1 Car Manufacturer' their 2.0 CR TDi's would be built in numerous factories throughout it's empire and not just the one place, otherwise the current situation of being unable to supply engines will only get worse! emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Hi, can you list how to go about dealing with these late delivery / compensation issues:

i ordered a roomster 15 oct 2010 thro drive a deal broker who then handed me over to a dealer. i was forecast 16 - 20 weeks for delivery, i'm now in my twentieth week - nothing heard from the dealer so i e-mailed them. They reply that it's now build date in may or june due to diesel difficulties.

1. who do you call first? dealer again or skoda uk?

2. what should i have to hand?

3. what if i cancel my deposit, how do i go about regaining the amount.

4. are there any specific questions that i should ask?

I spoke to Loders Skoda Yeovil yesterday. They originally told me delivery early June when I ordered on 18/12/10. It now appears that the expected date is at the end of June -'they are still having supply problems with the DSG gearbox parts' I am told, although 'dates are now moving forward a bit so phone mid-May for an update!'

to me it looks like the issue now has little to do with DSG, Diesel/Petrol engines or the amount of extras you have ordered. Or even China and currency issues. I mean, reading this forum every now and again, it seems to me that L&K's and VRS's are delivered much quicker (albeit still far too slow). Its just anything 4X4 which gets low priority

Finally got a build date for my 2.0 TDI CR DSG Scout 23 May 2011, delivery mid June - ordered on 27 Nov 2010.

Our non DSG Octavia Scout CR that was ordered mid December 2010 is currently scheduled for Build Week 29 (late July).

I posted this in another thread, our local Dealer has set up this site Click Here

If you have an order/SLI number, it should give you an idea whats happening. I understand in links to Skodas system, they did it ta assist with customers requests to find out how their order was going, but I think it works for any Skoda ordered from any UK dealer!
