Custom Cold Air Feeds

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any photos of a custom cold air feed on a vRS? Ideally routed behind the battery some-way and not through the usual place (as it looks fugly with a custom pipe).

Oh and anyone done it from the fog light(s)?

Im sure adding some hidden or custom pipe from the front bumper could not be too hard. I think Ill be doing some form of air box mod and cold air feed on mine when i get one.

Any pic's would be great if any ones done one?

need to move the battery if you want something to go into the wing but even then thats where the washer bottle is an limited room

loving the chargecooler set up! they were used loads on the MR2 turbos, work really well apparently :)

Trevor speaks the truth. There just isn't room on the nearside due to the washer bottle and battery

The Air Filter just in front of the LH front wheel looks like a great vacuum suction pipe if driving through a Ford or a flooded area !!

Free engine flusing too then! :p Not just increased performance!

FWIW, my Polo gets a cold airfeed from the wheel arches as standard. Although with intercooler/piping on one side, washer on the other not sure how practical that'll be.

the arch liner is there and its common sense really!!

What about a vent cut into the bonnet straight into a cone?

NO

Why not? I like the idea to be honest, it's not as if it's a fake vent, serves a purpose etc...

dont get a vent. there was a company i used a few years ago while i had my ax gt. think it was called cool louves iirc. looked really cool IMO.

another option is the vent off a merc sprinter van on the nearside wing then run a pipe from the wing to airbox.

on another note is it performance or looks you want it for? if performance no point as diesels run excess air if it needs the extra air the engine will drag it in.
