Door pockets - 10 second mod :-)

Featured Replies

I had a Mk5 Golf GTi before the Vrs - one thing i noticed when I got my new car was that the door pockets were not lined in the skoda where they were in the Golf.

Must be skoda cost saving..

Anyway, i just got some self adhesive neoprene strip off ebay for a few quid and did it myself.

The 50mm wide strip fits the bottom of the door pocket perfectly and took seconds to cut and fit.

V happy with the result B)

Handy.

I stuff my work pass in there and it rattles around annoyingly against the hard plastic, this would be a good fix.

I've most of the roll left over - you're welcome to some if you want (I work in Andover).

Just handitover! :giggle:

How much to ship two pieces, Could be a nice little earner :D

Seriously if you have a load spare, I'll pay for for a few pieces if you want to post it. Mines currently lined with a cheap microfibre to stop my oakleys from banging around.

to stop my oakleys from banging around

Is that some sort or euphemism? :giggle:

Good call Rob

So divide the remaining roll into a suitable section for both Octy doors, see how many pairs you end up with, and we'll start sending you some money :)

Thats a good idea, nice one.

I'm liking this idea.

Please add me to your list if there is enough to go around - I'll Paypal gift you for the stuff and some postage.

Add me too :) for 4 doors

and maybe some for the insides of the jumbo box

Dallan

LOL, what have you let yourself in for Rob?! :p

Might sound stupid but any hope of throwing up a pic of what you did??

Won't be easy to photograph, black neoprene inside a black door pocket - besides it's dark outside (and ****** cold).

Should be able to pay for the roll and get yours for free. Everyone's happy B)

I should imagine a Prince's Trust grant is winging it's way to as we speak Rob

And an appearance on Dragon's Den beckons - just make sure you get it copyrighted pronto

Just think of a line of fabric along the bottom of the door pocket....

Are the bins identical

Sainsburys has a antislip matt for your car - this too could be chopped up to fit.

How on earth does that GTi expect to stop?

Haha, very good - clutch and brake pedals nicely blocked out by the wheel, due to photograph angle emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Not quite. The Gold doorcard design is different. But the mod Rob has done has the same effect :)

2 x sheets of charcoal felt and glue from craft shop this am. 15 minutes of Blue Peter cutting and sticking et voila. Lined each pocket along the bottom and up the inner panel ( nearest the seat) and the drink holder and no rattles for me. £2.79.
