Fancy a 2.0TSi DSG Superb?

Featured Replies

Good news!

You can (as of this morning) order the Superb with the 2.0TSi engine.

It is only available with DSG and only available in the Elegance trim which will make for a rather fantastic package.

Even better this new model does apply to the VAT-Free campaign!

Hatch - £25,825 OTR

Estate - £26,220 OTR

Any questions I can help with?

What bhp are they James?

  • Author

They are listed at 200BHP but most likely like the Octavia vRS they probably actually turn out 210BHP or PS as they now like to call it.

I wonder if it will have the dual exit exhaust system or not, like this?

Does this herald the demise of the V6, which would reduce the average CO2 across the range quite considerably :S

I don't think so, people still want to have a four wheel drive and DSG Superb with a petrol engine.

Plus what would the Police drive if there was no 3.6?!

7 Speed DSG or just the 6 Speed?

  • Author

Because of the torque produced by the 2.0TSi engine it will have the 6 speed wet-clutch DSG gearbox fitted.

Does it make much difference on 6 or 7 speed ?

Also looking at the prices there is very little difference in cost between 1.8 and 2.0 so does that mean the 1.8 will disappear rather than the 3.6 ?

Shame there's no 4x4 option!

I cant see the image, but I may confirm that 2.0TSI has dual exhaust - just like v6

I personally prefer the newer 7 speed dual dry-clutch as I find it smoother and quicker to change. But having driven several Octavia vRS TSi DSGs I can confirm that it is a good combination. But I find the 1.8TSi DSG plenty quick enough and suprisingly frugal, I think the 2.0TSi DSG will offer a marginal increase in performance but it'll be a fair bit thirstier.

Yes that would be nice!

The image shows (or did) show a Superb 2.0TSi with a single exhaust at either side of the rear of the car, not like the V6.

Weird it took so long for skoda to introduce the 2.0 TSI in the UK. We had the engine atleast in june 2010 and most probable way earlier then that. I went for the 1.8 TSI instead because it had the 4x4 option.

I agree that it's a bit strange that the TSI 200 is introduced that late in some countries.

Not really true that we in Sweden had it before June, but I think we were able to order it around August/September 2010. If I am correct, the first ones arrived here around November/December 2010(?). Mine will arrive in the end of April. :)

Okay, then I apologize. Possibility to order from June then, anyway it was new for MY2011.

Still there haven't been that many sold and delivered. You can ask if the 200 is needed...

I recently borrowed the TSI 160 4x4 for some days, and I loved it!

About the dual exhaust discussion: the TSI 200 has 2 pipes on each side, same as the 3.6.

You are certain? Have you seen one?

Yes, I saw one 2.0 TSI (or TSI 200 as it's called here) just one hour ago. It did have 2+2 pipes, and it was direct from factory. I asked the dealer here, and he was 100% sure that they are equipped with this as standard (at least in Sweden).

Actually this version has been in production for two years AFAIK - the Estonian police has had them for a while, but only a year later (mid 2010) it was available for public.

Hence my question - does British police use the 3.6?? Isn't that a bit overkill?

Yes.........and No! ;)

Not going to do much for the residuals of the 1.8t

They don't use them for regular duties, I think they are used for unmarked armed response in this area.

Cambridgeshire Police have at least one 3.6..and as James said, its unmarked, blue lights behind the grille etc :)

On my way past Cambridge yesturday afternoon, i saw a paramedic fast response Superb 3.6 with full sticker kit and lights, and he wasn't hanging around.

So perhaps the 'services in Cambridge get a good deal on the 3.6's.
