Wahey, back to the pre-facelift headlights - result!

Smaller boot bad move but maybe this is not actually an Octavia replacement concept.. video does say that it heralds an onslaught of new models so I will keep fingers crossed that there will be an Octavia sized proper estate, not yet another pointless slope backed thing with soppy shaped door that you can't get your dog crate in, which is the way so many other manfs have gone with medium sized estates.

could always ditch the dog....

It looks like a Seat Leon Mk1 facelift to me... :wall:

Actually, if you half close your eyes and imagine the present Octy sized boot grafted on, it would look pretty good.

It's a concept... now is not the time to start worrying about boot space

I thought the next Octavia was going to be this 2013 Octavia

This seems much more in line with current 'family' look of an Octavia with a large boot. This I would seriously consider when I change in 2013/4.

The concept car in post No1 I do not like, the back end looks horrible. Looks like a Mercedes C class coupe

Thats the current superb that has had the rear octavia lights grafted on in photoshop.

The concept D is very much that, and just like the joyster and other concepts before them (well except the roomster), I dont think we will see anything like that on the road.

My dealer was in Prague three weeks ago an they actually showed them a real live rolling car tone the next Octavia. It is not the photoshopped one in your picture, nor is it the Vision D.

They were searched, and had to sign a € 1M lawsuit for taking pictures. So, no leaks... He said it was a bit wider, and a very nice evolution. All in all not much larger though. I would have thought it to grow a little bit...

Skoda A3!

Mixed emotions for the outside, I surely dislike the "overdesigned" Fords and Koreans, yet a bit of softening would be nice. And the grille is a bit oversized, especially when compared with the small headlights.

I don't think this will be the next Octavia, dispite what the guy in the video says, unless they are planning to offer this in the traditional liftback and estate versions too. Yes, Octavia HAS to keep the liftback version, it's the number 1 feature for a huge part of the market, no need to talk about Taxis... So, if this is the future Octavia, let's say this "third" version (hatchback) is presented first to draw attention and, in the future, cover a wider part of the market. Skoda would never ignore that huge part of the market who, for 15 years, has benefited from the liftback or estate practicallity of all Octavias so it would be very silly to truncate the Octavia and diminsh it to a hatchback.

The interior is a typical "concept" interior, the real thing will be probably completely different. I hope so, as I don't like concept interiors at all.

if that really is the next generation Octavia then this will be my last octavia...that looks awful, like some carrpy Kia or something, truly a big mistake for Skoda to release that IMO :'(

Looks great. My next car

HOW LONG IS THE WAITNG LIST BETTER ORDER IT NOW!

I went to the Geneva Motor show last weekend and saw this car in the metal. I can say one thing over and above what I said before: this car is not small. It might look like a mark one SEAT Leon but believe me this thing has a wheelbase that will shame a Superb Combi. Its scale is deceptive and I think people need not worry that the boot will be too small. I liked in even more in the metal than on the photos - apart from the "chinless" rear bumper. But Milotec or Superskoda can sort that out very easily with an aftermarket item of sorts!

So you took no pictures?

So you took no pictures?

Oh I did! Apologies for not posting before. This one I took on my iPhone and used the Auto Stitch app to put it all together:

These are just from my camera:

The pictures above and below have people in them so you can better gauge the scale of this car: that wheelbase is HUGE!

Nice pics

Looks pretty good to me. I'd buy one, though I'd prefer the joyster :)
