Hello & welcome :hi:

Have you tried the Fabia section?

It sounds to me like the Ecu thinks the coolant is warm when its being told that everything else is cold & it's telling you that it doesn't match it's parameters?

When you restart it with a warm engine, it's parameters are met & its all ok?

Have you VAG com'd it to see what error codes come up?

I had a temp related Ecu issue in the 1.3 version of that engine back in 2000. The car would be fine in the summer but if there had been a cold night, as the engine warmed up, the ignition would cut out the moment the thermostat opened. Usually on the A2 at speed!

You could restart it immediately & it would run fine for the rest of the day.

Took my local Skoda dealer 18 months & 2 Ecu's to find it but it did get fixed. There was a bad earth in the wiring loom that put extra strain on the Ecu as the stat opened, which blew a circuit on the Ecu.

I'm wondering if you have an Ecu issue? VAG com could help?

Im hopeing it isint an ECU problem, thats not something id considerd.is that costly to fix?I haven't VAG com it.Im thinking maybe sender in expansion tank maybe faulty?,will soon see. Also noticed oil leaking from Rocker cover seal, which i hope isint anything more serious?.Anyone know if i can just replace seal without touching rocker gear assembly?,Many thanks.
