ask your friendly national windscreens techs - they can get codes for most radios - phone em up

Wont work for the oem symphony headunit, because if you don't have the code for it then it requires a decoding tool to be connected to the circuit board. OR, just visit your dealer and you'll most likely get the code very cheaply or even free.

Reading the terms of that website, they do not guarantee that the software will work either just that they will send it to you.

Each stereo is coded to the car IIRC.

Put as you plug it in it checks the ECU to check it's the correct stereo, so I'm afraid it's probably a dealer job.

Don't think that's going to work on the OEM unit. I was quoted £40 from Skoda Cardiff to recode a Symphony HU.

Bought a Pioneer DEH75BT HU instead as the Symphony is too cr*p to spend money on!

Hi, why do you need the code?

After my battery completely died last month, I got it fixed (turned out to be a faulty relay) I turned it on and it said "safe mode" for a minute or so then all was back to normal?

The radio wasnt removed but the battery was completly dead and disconnected.

Yeah mine says 'safe' then asks for a code, i had an aftermarket headunit in and it broke, so i need the OEM one back in for the time being.

Dealer wanted £24, which i think is a bl**dy p*ss take..!

I had to disconnect power to the OEM stereo recently and got the SAFE/CODE message. After spending a while trying to guess it, it turned out that its meant to automatically unlock it again once you switch the ignition ON

I guess this is the same for other models?

(Why the crap OEM stereo needs a security code im not sure... )
