turbo's

Featured Replies

Ive read few posts on putting bigger turbos on mk1 fabia vrs, but has anyone put two turbos on one. I.e a smaller one to give boost low down and a bigger one for boost in higher rev range.

In principle, there are 2 ways you could do this:-

1) Have the small turbo supply compressed air to the big one.

2) Use the small one up to, say 2500rpm, and the big one above that speed.

Either way, it's a major development project, and I seriously doubt you'd get much more power than Jason's mongrel or the works Seat Leon WTCC cars ran, because you'll run into a limitting factor in how fast the flame front will propegate (sp) across the cylinder, which may be why Seat works have only got about 10% better (high end guess) specific output than Jason did.

The other thing you could try would be multiple injectors (several flame fronts will sound like a bad misfire, but could half the distance an individual front needs to go), but that means designing a new cylinder head.

Doesnt look like an option then. Lol

Then ud be lucky to find space for all the extra bits under there, have you seen the space left in your bonnet?

In fairness, no point.. diesels are never going to be fast like a petrol :D
