Hidden Key lock?

Featured Replies

I was in my local dealers this morning, and one of the customers was asking if there was a key lock located under the plastic cover to the left of the "pull" part of the handle.

Sales guy didn't know, so we had a look but could not see a way to pop the plastic cover off.

Just wondered if anyone knows?

Think the customer was wanting to get a key blade cut and hide somwhere in a wheel arch, because he has locked his keys in the boot a couple of times :giggle: and at least he could get in if there was a lock under the cover.

Bend down and look from underneath the handle there is a small rectangular opening, the size of the key width, place the key in there and pop the cover off exposing the key lock.

Its on the passenger side only as far as I know.

Just goes to confirm my prejudices regarding what exactly the purpose of salespeople is these days...? :giggle:

The handbook (http://www.skoda-auto.com/com/service/documentation/superb/pages/11-2010.aspx) says indeed there is - there's a gap underneath where you can insert the key blade to pop it open and expose the lock. I will point out from personal experience, though, that it's nigh-on impossible to turn an unmounted flip key blade in the lock without a pair of pliers or similar.

Apparently I'm having a slow typing day...

Thanks for that i might pop back in at some point and pop it off for him

It is only the Drivers door that has the keylock.
