Skoda Finance do PCP? But it is capped at a maximum of 25,000 miles per annum, do you do more than this?

I'm looking to finance our Yeti through Skoda (VW Financial Services) on PCP when it FINALLY arrives.....

As we are trading our Passat, this appears to be relatively straightforward as both are VW ! I have extended our current agreement whilst the "Ghost Yeti " arrives.

I think I have just found a name for our new car

James - do Skoda do service & maintenance plans, like VW did for us on the Passat ?

Yes you can do a service plan on a Yeti. The prices are mileage and term dependant.

Skodas PCP is good. James is great as well!!

I looked into this for my Yeti as, after 20+ years of having a 'Company Car', circumstances were such I decided to get my Yeti as my own car (my Company has paid me more salary in lieu).

As I look after our Company cars I was in the box seat to check around the mainstream Leasing Companies of Lex, LeasePlan, ARVAL etc. with our Leasing broker. I then asked my dealer about a Skoda Finance deal and they immediately came up about 10% better, plus there was the convenience of all the admin being done through my dealer.

A no brainer!

PS> I finished up using Skoda Insurance as well.

I'm finding a lot of people opting out of company car schemes now and taking the PCP option at the moment, something to do with the rates available through Skoda Finance and the taxes you pay on having a company car now.

Just a tip for the Op, do check when you sign all your papers that the term is the length you asked for. I didn't check fully and its costing me a good chunk more than I originally budgetted for. Lesson learned!

It looks like my employer is set to introduce a salary sacrifice scheme for lease cars, which would be handy.

There are no figures available yet at all as the scheme isn't set-up but was wondering if anyone had already got quotes through a business (full maintenance inc.) for a Greenline 2 or 2.0TDI 110 SE - I can do the rest of the maths from there to work out the cost to me, but have no ideas of what a lease would be at. Not that I'm expecting specifics, but about 15Kpa would be the mileage we'd be looking at. Obviously I'd go for a Greenline 2 as it would be subject to company car tax...it's just a shame those 119g/km cars will no longer be in the 13% band as of April 2012...

I realise that's all a bit specific but would be interested to get a feel of how the market views Yeti's from a residual perspective (I mean real rather than the current lead-in induced inflation!)

No. My average over the past 5yrs has been around 15k pa.

True, but the lease will be done via a lease company so I wouldn't want to waste James' time as it wouldn't end in a sale. I've found reference in the back of What Car to the 2.0TDI 170 Elegance being about £310 + VAT, so a Greenline 2 SE should be about £220-£230 + VAT which seems possible...

or why not just talk to your local Skoda dealership?

No. My average over the past 5yrs has been around 15k pa.

There are other factors to the equation of 'which PCP do I take?' other than the rate per month/mileage to be covered.

It is worth considering what you will do with the car at the end of the 3 year(?) term and, quite importantly, how much is the 'balloon' or residual payment.

Do some sums and you might be surprised at the outcome, I was. ;)

Try these people http://www.selectcontracts.co.uk/ we have had 3 cars off them on personal contracts (this is contract hire with no balloon payment at the end - just hand the vehicle back) Prices reasonalable. BUT... it's worth trying James at Allams, he would supply the car and finance (hire) would be via Skoda Finance, I can tell you that with a new car, Skoda Finance discount the car and then base their lease figures on that - I am currently checking some contract hire figures for my company and Skoda via a dealer are turning out to be the cheapest !!

Get the quote for any PCP written down at the outset with all the conditions and figures and take it with you when you collect to check that nothing changed along the way. Easy to get caught up in the excitement of the moment on collection and miss something.
