Diesel Tuning

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just joined Briskoda and wanted to know whether anyone has upgraded their 1.9TDI 110 bhp diesel, with a good diesel chip at a reasonable price. My mate over in Germany has just got his Fabia TDi chipped for about 300 Euros and an increase in performance from 100 bhp to 135bhp and he says it goes like stonk. The web site for his tuner is www.mw-auto-tuning.de and currently they have an offer at 199euros. Is there anything like this in UK? Or are we poor relations yet again .

Welcome to Briskoda. There are plenty of tuning options in the UK for the TDI engine. Have a look at the my Performance forum for leads.

Welcome

You can either go the tuning box route (30-500 quid) which will buy you about 25-30% increase in bhp and torque or go the remap route (375+ quid) for up to 50% increase (depending on who's rolling road figures you believe ;)).

I went the tuning box route and it's the best 30 quid I spent on the car. Jason (Devonutopia) and Andy_Ellis have both had theirs chipped by Jabba and are very happy with the results :D

Plenty of info on the site, and plenty of tuners with their own forums....

Dont forget the 1 Click brigade as well :)

Welcome & Yep, Jabbasport remap gave 164 bhp & 393 N/m of torque PLUS better economy, ours averages 54 mpg now & gets "well used". Top whack is about 135 indicated & its a tadge faster than an Audi TT 180 bhp. Weve proved it on more than one occasion. If youre anywhere near Winchester you are welcome to a spin in it.

Also try Allard turbosports, Lloyd Allard is a bit of a Ninja with Diesels & competes incredibly succesfully in the Volkswagen cup with his Oil Burning Golf

There are more possible sources in our Links section here.

Looks interesting. I must admit getting a better (front-mounted?) intercooler sounds like a good way of doing this :)

Whats the dragon box like and is it reliable?

Dragon boxes will increase fueling but not boost pressure, a remap will increase boost as well as fueling.

Hello ... Got an offer in Germany for this :

299 EUR for changing from 110 to 150 BHP ( 340NM torque )

Greetings, Carsten

welcome to the group

I've got the dragon box as well. Remarkable improvement and economy has not altered, if anything it's slightly better.

As long as you don't go to mad with the adjuster smoke isn't a problem. Dragon claim 140bhp, not sure if it's that high but it's not far off.

Cheers

Lee, which model is your tuning box, and did they tell you it was digital?

Dragon only do one box for the 110tdi as far as I know.

As for the design of the box, it modifies signals to the electronic fuel pump(As do all boxes, Tunit/PSI etc, for the 110 AFAIK), it is done on an intergrated chip on a pcb but it is not the same as the later PD Digital boxes which contain a map in a flashed ROM.

Analogue units are only advertised as being available for the PD.
