Roof scoop ala WRC/Scoobys

Featured Replies

Want to fit a WRC style roof vent but dont want it permanent.

Ideal fixing is Sikaflex 221 PU adhesive, but when set it can't be removed without damaging paint.

Have double sided Body fixing tape but suppliers of scoop dont feel this is secure enough.

So 2 more options.

One is drill 1x hole in roof above interior light and small bolt to a bracket to hold scoop.

Or did think about using a CB aerail mag mount affixed to the inside of scoop.

any suggestions, would prefer not to drill holes.

what about tiger seal? if you want to do it do it, it's your car. Would be nice to see more people trying different things. It's not my cuppa tea but then its not my car.

Please don't.

Are you a friend of Brimma by any chance?

Never liked them on anything other than a Scooby myself. This person seems to have figured a simple solution to the problem. The bonnet scoop is my favourite.

Does make me think that people would view a roof scoop on a Skoda as a similar mod though. If it was a genuine ex WRC car, it'd probably have one fitted anyway, but a road going vRS doesn't for a reason. However, I'm into stealth, not bling. Each to their own, it might work.

This works for me

If it was a proper rallycar replica then i'd say yes, but on a standard road car..... :wonder:

It's a fine line between a hit or a miss. This person missed in my opinion, but some people wouldn't be able so see why.

To the untrained eye, it's very similar to the WRC car, even the colour is right. To me though, it should be lumped in with the Toyota Tercel & it's cardboard body kit as they have completely missed the point. Modding a car is all in the small details, merely slapping some kit on to make it look a bit like the original is misguided and rarley works.

What you mean the EVO stylee front bumper?? :D
