Not posted anything on here for a while - here are a few from trips this year...

Barn owl - seen at sunset in Norfolk

8105831062_be4efe1421_o.jpg

Little egret - once caught, these elegant birds flick up the catch and swallow it.

8106046640_9a7e1ae943_o.jpg

Wheatear - they came so close to us on the beach, so I stood within range of this weathered perch and hoped. Paid off!

8012686205_43b3e3a739_o.jpg

Grey wagtail - I've often overlooked these in favour of dippers as they often share the same environment. Silly!

8012647825_9eb2310af6_o.jpg

Oystercatcher - squadrons of these flew up and down the shoreline at Titchwell - I'm sure this one is smiling!

8120255740_b3f0b22797_o.jpg

Kestrel - hovering over a hedge behind my car - almost too close to focus on.

8128684304_29ca4e7cdf_o.jpg

Bearded tit - took a friend to see these characters "pinging" their way through the reed beds at Cley (Norfolk). She didn't stop smiling after getting her first shots of them, for days.

8155748615_f68d4e7672_o.jpg

Spoonbill - it's a juvenile, as the adults have black bills with yellow markings. It's the closest I've ever been to one, so a real treat!

8155652482_2129a66271_o.jpg

Waxwing - there has been a large irruption of these into the UK this winter - if you have a rowan tree laden with berries, keep an eye out for them. They make a sound rather like a trill phone.

If you like these, take a look at my Flickr (http://www.flickr.co...os/petewalkden/) page - literally hundreds of other shots to browse through. :)

Like them I certainly do :)

Wonderful bird pics, your Flickr certainly has a lot more the same, very skillful photography.

stunning mariek

breathtaking shots MarieK. Somewhere I'd love to visit.

these are all amazing shots. Am a bit wary of posting mine, but might as well go ahead, even if it's just to get some constructive criticism

Nothing wrong with those. I've been meaning to try to shoot grangemouth - was it easy to find a good spot?

we were at the top of the dry ski slope by the golf course just off J4 of the M9.

that photo is a crop of a full zoom shot at 200mm.

According to some of my camera club folks if you try from any closer the security boys start taking interest.

Must have a look see. Maybe we need to sort a brisky photo outing.

tough to get shots of something moving so quickly so not all of them are as sharp as I would like. love watching these guys dogfighting over the best spot on the feeder!

Duck Pond - where do you go to get your wildlife shots? I'd love to do it, need to get on with it and actually get out there! Not sure where to go though. MarieK - massively jealous of your Northern Lights trip, I have always wanted to go there!

Couple of shots of my cousin's puppy that I took last week

Pads by dreamzscape, on Flickr

I took these a couple of days ago in my mums garden. He was very timid, but my mum has been (over) feeding him and so he is a regular visitor. Sadly he only comes once it is dark and as yet I haven't dared to use flash or some decent additional lighting. But I did use my mums feeble solar garden lights (near useless) and a small torch in 'Flood Mode' from an upstairs window to at least get something that wasn't too blurry.

He currently gets fed (on advice from the local Badger ranger in the National Trust place down the road) Dog Food, Nuts, Corn Flakes, Muesli, Jam sandwiches, Peanut butter sandwiches and other bits and bobs. I think I need to come back as a badger!

And although very blurry, I think this one proves he is a boy badger?

Nice! Never seen a live badger. I'm not likely to now as we don't have them here :D

I've seen one live possum here. Unfortunately it was as it ran under our campervan :( Mind you they are pests in NZ.

Sorry off-topic rambling. Great photos!
