Love the 2nd one especially although they're all very, very good.

What equipment are you using and what settings did you use for the Heron shot?

loaded question as I'm shopping for a new DSLR :giggle:

All the shots were taken using a Canon Eos 550 on a tripod. For the landscapes used I used a Canon EFS 10 -22 lens and various Lee graduated filters.

The Heron shoot was again Tripod mounted but I used a Canon 100 – 400 l 4.0/5.6 lens I bought second-hand. That was 1/8 sec at F5.6 using 800 ISO. Took quite a few but that was the best of the lot. In fact the rest were rubbish. Lol

I used the same lens for the pictures the other day from my Kenya trip, which is actually why I bought the lens in the first place. I intended to sell it when I got back of holiday but was so pleased with the results I’ve kept it. If you haven’t seen them they are the thread “Some photos took in Kenyaâ€

Thanks for the info.

St. Catherine's point, Isle of Wight. Nikon D3100.

Ventnor, Isle of Wight. Lucky shot! D3100 again.

All excellent

I adhore the lighting in the first one, a vey difficult shot to capture what with it being into the sunlight an'all.

The St Catherine's point shot is lovely with the light casting a rather sombre mood on the photo but the yacht looks like it has a tiny bit of sunlight reflecting off it, just look at those clouds, brilliant!

Thanks. :)

I used a serious polariser on the St. Catherine's shot to bring the clouds out. Took a while to get right, the boat had moved a lot! :giggle:

More to come... got a new lens for Christmas... 70-300 VR. Time to get back to Longleat when the giraffe feeding section is open, methinks!

Took this a long time ago, my Celica GT4 when I lived in Holland. It was one of the photo's I took that was on alltrac.net's 2004 calendar
