@pinkpanther i believe that canadas wildfires are the cause of the orange moon and skies in some places ,i read summat earlier today .

A couple from yesterday’s testing at Brands Hatch. Not much of interest on track. A mate was testing but didn’t even make it off the trailer with a water leak. In other news a sad day, the Yeti is going. It’s done me well other than the persistent water leaks into the cabin. Picking up a defender next week then gonna de-bling it with some white wheels and a Massey Ferguson rusty red wrap.🤣

@B33fy wow, a Austin A40, introduced in 1958 and was in production up to 1967, I wonder how many of todays cars will last as that long?

Some advice, please, regarding a replacement digi camera.

I had until recently (it's just been burgled) a Canon T70 film camera and assorted lenses but it got set aside as I spent more time on two wheels and needed a 'pocketable' digi camera for convenience. Both are now history.

I'm looking at relatively current digi (doesn't need to be new) and something which will give me an equivalent to the 35-70 lens I liked on the Canon. I have no aspirations to being a 'proper photographer' but would like more control of my image framing, composition and exposure than I can get via a phone camera. BTW I'm still using a Samsung S10 which is pretty good but relatively ancient.

As a pensioner with two houses in need of fettling before I can liberate any funds from them I'm look for cheap to reasonable.

Any recommendations out there?

Did you ever sort this? Or did I miss the update in this thread?

Reckon we spotted a double rainbow this evening 🌈?

No rain though.

Still an open issue. @Gaz very kindly loaned me a spare SLR & lens to let me decide if I could use that format going forward, but unfortunately it's still in its bag as there has been much "real life" to contend with recently.

I did wonder why you've been posting less tbh, Mike. Hoping it's nothing too distracting.

I've also wondered why JR hasn't been on in a while.

Going second hand is the way to go in my view as you can get some pro gear with very low shutter count for not a lot of money and then you have the choice of either with normal consumer grade lens or pro lens, again for not of money as they have already had the initial depreciation hit.

have a look at MBP site as they have some good buys and they usually come with 12 months warranty as well. I have a Canon 7D, which when it was new was well over £1,000 but now costs as little £174 Used Canon EOS 7D | MPB Then chose your lens.

Puulease, it's a DSLR 🤣 None of that crusty old analogue stuff (old D stuff instead 😁).

No rush, and certainly no time pressures from me. Hang on to it and get to it when's right for you and life allows 👍

We saw friends yesterday, who we haven't seen in 12 years 'coz life just gets in the way. They're semi-retired and similar conversations were had about what life has in store for us. I parked my car really nicely, in Lewes, where 'life' decided to not reveal to me the jutting out bit of kerb I was close(r) to - I'll be calling an alloy wheel refurb company tomorrow morning 🤬🙄

Gaz

We spotted what appears to be a Greylag & Canada Goose Hybrid 🤔

Who knew such a thing was possible!

A PITA but so easy done. The tyres don’t protect them much either. There’s a cast iron grate outside our old house built into the kerb, if you catch it you get a cut side wall and knackered wheel. Don’t ask how I know🤣 Downgrading to white steel wheels on the van for winter and to avoid damaging the silly money 22” alloys. Good thing is Steels are two a penny because no one wants them. £300 for five brand new wheels and tyres from the bay, bargain!

For the Larson fans amongst us:
