Do I sell the vRS?

Featured Replies

As title, i'm torn between one hell of a good deal from Skoda on a brand new MK2 vRS Estate and keeping mine :'(

Local Skoda dealer have offered me a blinding deal on p/x against a new Estate vRS in white or silver... £17.5k - 20% and £Xk for mine is so tempting, got to work out how much extra (if any) it'll cost me to run it.

Need an estate for dog and in the near future would like to have kids so need to weigh up if an offer as good as this will be around next year and if mine will be worth alot less.

Will be keeping this updated as if I decide to buy the new one I will advertise the vRS on here as well so I can get an idea of what a private buyer will pay

When I get into the navy I'm going for the new Volvo s60r if you think it's right then go for it especially if you got a good deal!

It is very tempting, just not sure if I should sell the car on here as some of the mods will save someone a few £££ and its a bloody good car! B)

lol :giggle:

Do it mate. You said you will need a bigger car soon so might as well get one while you can get a good deal plus your car is still worth something.

Onwards and upwards

If youre circumstances are going to require you to get a larger car then the most obvious progression is a Fabia II vRS Estate, espechially with the cracking deals to be had presently.

Go for it!

If you can live with the running costs and DSG box, then go for it.

I don't like the DSG box (although we have one in our Yeti for family use, so I know them) for a fun car as although it's good, it does detach you from the action a bit.

I'm sure all the new VRS owners like them though, as otherwise they wouldn't have bought the cars in the first place.

Well, either that or they don't admit they should have stuck with a mk1 after spending 14k+. ;) :p

Running costs should be similar, only town work will notice much of a difference in the economy?

Will have to have a long hard think about it.

Yet to test drive one though.

Go and drive one, I test drove one, and preferred my Mk1, same happened to my mates dad who has a Mk1 and wasn't convinced it was worth changing and spending lots more money.

If you need the space though..... probably a good choice.

Space will be a problem soon, I doubt I can get the dog (Labrador x Weimararner) and a pushchair in the current vRS :giggle:

Bloody hell - think it's a Superb estate you need :giggle:

I'm also thinking of changing my vrs but looking at getting a octy vrs estate as not a fan on the new fabia

Costs similar?

8k used tops verses 14k new, so higher depreciation.

MkI overall should be 10 to 15 mpg better off. I average 60mpg on a long run.

Bit better than a mkII I think, unless you intend to drive it like a Greenline and you'll still not see that economy anyway.

MkII a lot of people think should really be run on super unleaded.

Pretty sure the mkI is cheaper to run.

I have a new greenline Fabia estate and it's a very comfortable, practical little car.

But I still prefer the mkI as a VRS, or a later Octavia. Personal choice of course. B)

Well, we can but hope it is as good as the MK1 :giggle:

Will let you know how test drive goes, I may hate it and the misses may throw a wobbly at the thought of changing cars

No NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!

Trust me ,,, I thought I needed more space so traded in my Fabia Vrs for an Octavia PD Vrs , you miss it so much you lose thousands and then sooner or later you will get another one and realise how stupid you were to get rid of it in the first place.

I know what Im talking about mate , dont sell it.

lol :D

Its only a thought at the moment because we shall be needing a bigger car, suppose I could just wait until we actually decide to have children! I'm sure new deals will be about in a years time...

Keep your vRS and save some money - buy a secondhand Audi A4 Avant or Golf Estate (or Octavia Wagon) for the missus/dog

Sell the dogs...

Npthing worse than being trapped in a car with a farting dog.

Chum bum springs to mind

~ From a mechanical point of view I really don't want to see the bill when one of those clutches go on the DSG.

~ Petrol + big car? What??

3-4 yr old 520d estate. :giggle:
