Cheap Oil at Asda

Featured Replies

Visited local Asda in Hull today and they are selling Castrol Edge 5w 30 and 5w 40 fully synthetic oil for £10 a litre, much better than £16.99 at Halfords.

Fooksake. You don't want to know how much I had to fork out for that at Motorworld at the weekend. :(

Why aren't you guys going to your local TPS and getting the LongLife oil?

Full service kit (inc fuel filter) for a PD140 and 5l LongLife III came to £65 inc VAT!

Admittedly, that was trade prices, not retail over the counter for Joe Public, but I am sure the oil will be cheaper!

check the spec listings on the back of the bottles that they match the listings for the engine in ur car. asda is prone for selling oils that have no real spec lists for modern long life engines.

Castrol Edge 5w30 is fine and meets the relevant VW specs - one of the best oils you can get!

Just to add you can also buy it pretty cheap straight from the stealers. My last 1 litre top up bottle was about £8.

Just at thought but i always go to my local Audi dealership for oil (Fuchs i think) its under £25 for 5L and meets all relevent specs?

I have bought oil from ASDA for the last 2 oil changes. Firstly Mobil 1 (5 litres) and secondly Castrol Edge (4 litres) both at a very competitive £30. Both had all the necessary VAG specs.

£10 a litre :bandit:

I'll be using a good brand 5w40 next but not the likes of Mobil 1 & Castrol. Silkolene pro s, millers cfs and Redline stand out.
