For f*ck sake

I was coming out the local Tesco petrol station tonight when some NEDs decided to throw eggs at my car from behind bushes. One hit the drivers window/door. At first I was going to get out but realised they had more eggs. So I went to the police station as it's very close. Asked to speak to a police officer and told the girl what happened and if they were quick enough they'd maybe catch the wee sh8tes in the act. I soon realised that wasn't going to happen. I got about 5000 questions before she even radioed the police. Then after another ten mins it was 'would you like to speak to a police officer' and i said yes. Then another minute... 'is there actually any damage to you car?' I said I wasn't sure as it's dark but one egg has def hit the car and has made a right mess. Then another minute goes by... 'sorry there are no officers available!!!

I was told they would have a look later at where the NEDs were standing and call me if they caught any. I drove past the spot on the way home and there it was, the empty box of eggs and beer bottles.

I got home and used the outside light. There is actually a bad bit of damage to the door. You can see the paint has been impacted. I cleared away the shell before it dried in. I can only wait to daylight to see how bad it really is.

All this after I spent 4 hours cleaning the car on Thursday and half an hour tonight giving it a nice wash.

Rant over.

I was more worried about the car getting more eggs thrown at it. I know now the police won't do anything. I'm sure they would have had it been one of there nice Octavia patrol cars

A NED is a Non-Educated Delinquent but Ad Lav has just hit the nail on the head.

Was this in Antrim town? I spotted a similar bunch doing the same last week. Luckily I never got hit!.

To cheer you up this once happened to me about 15-20 years ago now when I was a younger whippa snapper - I caught the little fooker think he was about 14/15- gave him a good slap and then took him home to his parents because 1 of my passengers knew the lad and knew where he lived, his family were proper snobs, his dad was extremely embarassed and clipped him round the head a few times and then asked me to bring my car to the house the next day and his son and his mates would clean it- best valet I ever got - I saw the lad in a local pub a few years later and I chinned him again because he barged pass r lass n spilt her drink -if he'd have just apologised I'd have let it go,but no the same arrogant attitude - I didn't know it was the same lad at the time.

Hope this helps

Believe me, I was tempted to do the same. But in this day and age you just don't know what their parents will be like!!

Funny story though and it has cheered me up a bit.

Cheers.

It sure can. I picked each piece of shell off before it got a chance to dry in. I'm sure it'd do a lot more damage if I didn't.

Read somewhere not to use washers if you get egg on the windscreen as it congeals or something. Never tried it though.

And it saddens me to say nothing in the OP surprises me either.

Damn. Already washed the egg off the driver's window. Though luckily there wasn't much of it on the window compared to the door.

Cheers Triggerfish.

Sorry, I meant more with it being an issue for driving safely, or having to get out and remove it after washing the windscreen. Would be easy enough to check in a bowl with some water I guess.

No idea how to get it off paintwork though, my parents just left it when there car got done a while ago. :dull: Well done on the 250 posts too.:giggle:

I had that happen to my car a year or two back. Didn't know it was an egg at the time, but slammed on the brakes and lit the tyres up reversing back to where the were (after checking nothing was behind me first obviously). Never seen kids run so fast ever..... Then as I saw where they were runnig to, set off round the road in interecept them....didn't get there in time but gave them a hell of a fright, not seen them since.

A white lie goes a long way.. e.g. oh they were throwing bottles down to puncture tyres or rocks at cars.. wasn't sure how many of them, maybe 10? :p

Happened to the Mrs last week at Asda in Whitchurch, Bristol.

She was loading some shopping on to the back seat and BOSH

the eggs went on her, the car and inside the car too as she had the door

opened and her back turned. Typically it was a hoodie aged about 15.

Bl00dy good job I wasn't there or I would have tw@tted the little scumbag.

And if it had been my car and not the SDI, then I would have gone back there

looking for him, regardless of her protests. I wouldn't have had that, NO WAY!

I would have mashed an egg into his face so hard the shell

would have cut him. It's the only language these ba$tards understand.

I came home from my kitchen job to find her fuming and cleaning up the mess.

I offered to go back there in my car and sort him out ( He was wearing a Red hoody)

but she said no because she knows the boy would have been in BIG trouble.

Probably saved me a little stay in a cell, though...

unlucky lad....young ones these days have no respect for anyone/thing :@ , as you said f*** knows what there parents would say...more than likely blame you than there pain in the a*** ill bred wains

they'll hopefully see how it feels someday when it happens to them. was there any/much damage?

Only someone from Northern Ireland could suggest that!! :D Molotov's a bit too predictable and old fashioned now eh? ;)
