My dealer told me when build week was assigned. I queried the timetable from there, and got a pretty comprehensive reply:

The car will be built & despatched from the factory one day during that week.

It will go by land, to Germany (Emden) to the port of exit. It can sit at Emden for upto 2 weeks.

Once it is built into a ship manifest & gets onto the boat, it will be 2 days on the water.

Our cars come into Grimsby, when unloaded it goes into a holding compound.

It will then be picked up on the transport companies computer system & it will get a transport order.

When they have enough cars to fill a transporter bound for Leeds, we will get a dealer advice note, letting us know that the car is on it's way here.

Again, it can stay at Grimsby for up to 2 weeks, but generally they don't take that long.

Once the car arrives here - we book it into our service department for a pre-delivery inspection & number plates fitting. Our service department require 5 working days notice to prepare a car for me, but don't always take this long - if they are quiet they can usually get them in within a couple of days.

Unless there is any change to build week 12, I won't contact you until the car is built. When it is built, I'll drop you a line so that you know this has happened.

My guess is that there is some wiggle room in there, all the better to manage my expectations. What I've read in this thread seems to bear out that suspicion.

My dealer is Platinum Skoda in Bath, not sure which port it would have come in to. I was very surprised to get the phone call to say it had arrived!

Wish I had of gone with bath. They got good reviews whereas mine in Bristol got bad reviews and I have experienced it first hand.

I assume nobody has any news on theirs then! Enjoy the car Alan.

no news at my end. my car is coming to edinburgh. i guess the port they will use is newcastle then going by the post from PowerMalc?

I'm using Chathams in Dunfermline.

My mate had an Elegance from the Edinburgh branch last year and it came in through Newcastle (Tyne) so I'm assuming that's where ours will come too.

Would be very surprised if we didn't share a transporter too!

do you go to the meets they have up here? i have never been as just new but if you do be good see it when you get it as i would imagine they will be around the same time.

my car was scheduled for build week 12 or 13 (cant remember which) I had a call last week to say it was at Emden, and I missed a call from the dealer on friday, so I think my car may have arrived, Ill call tomorrow to find out.

nothing at my end i asked my dealer on friday and waited on a call back but as usual never got one.

let us know if yours has arrived as if it was at emden last week with ours, hopefully ours were shipped with yours.

Aparrently good news from SUK. The car is at emdem where it has been for 2 weeks. The wait goes on!

Hang on, slight update. The dealer has told me it's in the country and waiting for the delivery agents to give them a delivery date. Progress!!

I have no idea. My dealer says it's in the country but SUK say it's at emdem. SUK did say they lose visibility of it once it leaves emdem though

Ouch! Glad I ordered a petrol one. Probably about 2 weeks then mrhankey until collection. Your dealer can tell you where it is, they told me.

Get my CR VRS on Thursday finally!!
