Well I collected my car earlier this afternoon.

So far am loving it to death.

Just feels slightly more refined that my old pre-FL.

I'll get some pictures when I can.

My vehicle is:

Petrol Hatch Manual

Grey

Full Leather

Heated Seats

Xenons

Rear Reversing Sensors

Auto-Dimming Mirrors

Sat-Nav

Maxi-Dot

Been driving around with a big grin on my face!

My smile hasn't stopped after 12 glorious days. I'm gonna open it up a bit soon and feel the power! Very smooth engine compared with my mk I vrs. Awesome soundsystem as well

Not sure if this is the right thread to show off the new car - but here are a few quick pics:

nicky boy, glad you are enjoying mate.

i have decided i will collect car on sat morning as the weather is too nice to wait any longer.

going to put car i on tuesday to get the tints done but just looking forward to it now.

cheers

Who's doing the tints mate?

This thread is making me very envious, I ordered vrs cr estate on 3rd March and initially was given a date of 21/06 for arrival at dealers, had an email last week that this had now been delayed to 21/07 (due to parts shortage at factory) and then a further 10 days for pdi etc giving a collection date of around 01/08. I am getting very impatient now although I have a nasty feeling there will be further delays, I really hope not!!

I seriously hope i'm not waiting that long, if it goes beyond 24 weeks then I will cancel and order a BMW 3 series touring instead. What excuse have they given you? I was just told parts shortage at factory.

we have ordered a diesel, dealer never updates us,we have been told its the engines, then we have been told its bosch parts needed, but people who have ordered well after me have taken delivery well before now, hope you dont have too long a wait for your car

When I was collecting my car on Monday the salesman told me that someone who had ordered a 1.2 Diesel Fabia had been waiting since October for his with still no build date.

When people were going to him for diesels he was suggesting they look at the ex-demo stock around the company.

He told me that now he has been told to quote 12 weeks for petrol models too.

so collecting my car tomorrow morning guys.

cant wait.

really looking forward to it. going away for a few days for break so be good test of driving it.

report back once i collect.

one quick question. i cannot find my passport as id, can i just take a birth certificate or marriage certificate along with photo part of driving license?

cheers

Usually a driving licence is enough as ID, but if someone insists on two forms, birth or marriage certificate would do or a utility bill.

Have a great time with the new car!

Edited by Zdenek Fibich

I had to take both parts of my licence. I guess you have it now anyway. Hope you're as happy as I am with mine. Cleaned it for the third time in 2 weeks today. Also, damn sport mode is good for A road overtaking

hey guys,

yeah collected on saturday. although very nearly did not.

few issues, eventually found my passport.

however the car was not cleaned well at all when i went to collect, glue all over it which i was not too pleased about. valet guy came out and went over it all again before i agreed to sign paperwork.

a bit dissapointed with that however loving the car. came with conti sports 2 so hope they are good for not getting the tyre problem.

had them on my old merc and never had any issues with them so hopefully all ok.

anyway loving the car and glad i went for a manual again as the driving experience is great.

really enjoying it. rubbish thing was it was raining when i collected and was not the nicest yesterday, yet now it is nice and will be all week when i am back at work :(

anyway really like the car.

one point though i wonder if anyone has this with a petrol vrs manual, when i reverse or am in first gear and slow bringing up the clutch and giving some slight revs, i find i feel the cluth slightly springy, like a small vibration. however if i give it slightly more revs this seems to be ok.

its a nack to get it right and just wanted to check if this is normal with the clutch?

thanks guys

My service from my dealer was awful as well. I made an official complaint and got the usual rubbish 'we're so sorry bla bla bla'.

Anyway glad you like the car mrh, I can't help you with the clutch problem as I have two and I neither involve my left foot.

I have started flooring the car a bit now and it is a lovely feeling, beautiful power delivery.

cheers nicky boy, i will post up about my clutch thing.

bet yeah loving it.

very powerful i have to say. opened it up a bit to be honest as we were away for weekend so steady cruising for 200 miles now starting to full the power when opening it up and very impressed.

although as i pressed the go fast pedal, it was like my fuel gauge just went in the opposite direction.
