Will be a 1.4 16v 75bhp auto IIRC. They only did the autos with that engine I believe.

Been there a while too judging by the snow!

'IN EMACULATE CONDITION' <- Fail.

Yeh only 20 bhp and some 100 ft lbs or torque :giggle:

Vrs is faster sorry.

Gap widens even more after a remap.

ask tigger about the time we had a... ahem.... drag race over chew lakes then.. the vrs had about a car length ahead of my 2.0 at an undisclosed 3 figure speed (on a private road or course)

as for all this talk about the mk3 golf engine, sorry guys that's all cobblers... the engine in the fabia shares virtually nothing in common with the mk3 golf 2.0 engine... for a start the engine block is 9mm shorter on the fabia and uses an internal water pump (mk3 has a belt driven pump)... the mk3 uses a dizzy which is driven by an intermediate shaft, the fabia has no inter-shaft and uses a double ended coilpack... the mk3 is a sidedraught engine with exhast and intake on the back, the fabia has a crossflow cylinder head with the intake on the front, mk3 has a belt driven pas pump which is electric on the fabia...... need i go on?

yes i'd agree they were no the pick of the bunch of the vag range in standard form, but the bottom ends are absolutely bullet-proof for modifiers... neuspeed in america made a supercharger covnersion kit for them too
