AutoGlym instant tyre dressing seems to work well - one coat for uniform black and two coats will give you ultra shiny!!!

I would never put anything on tyres (even sidewalls) that made them slippy. Armor All make surfaces very slippy IIRC

My vote goes to armorall - its quick and makes the tyres look new. Don't use tyre wall paint - it leaves brush marks then goes brown until it eventually falls off.

I just picked up some turtle wax tyre dressing from Halfrauds this afternoon. I shall try to remember to do a before and after shot when I get to applying it later on.
