Presuming you have tinted rear glass, I'd opt for the 'external' as an 'internal' will get lost slightly with the tint and an external is much easier to place where you want and get it straight.

I was referring to OE tint/sunset glass. Wiper destroy it? Not if you put it in a suitable place.
