GR_Octavia_ABT - not visiting Greece this summer but am coming with a group of friends for the Olympics. Am probably going to bring the RS as I will be travelling with my wife and my child (not born yet but will be about a year old by then!). If you are around at that time would be great to meet up with you all the Greek Briskoda members.

By the way, you don't happen to know anywhere that we can get accommodation during the Olympics do you? Everywhere we have contacted so far have said that they are full / been taken over by the Olympic committee. :(

olympics? is it that time already....doesnt seem 2 minutes since the last lot...

still thats the place to have them!

Its summer of 2004 in Athens - I must admit it does seem to have come along a bit quick since the Sydney ones (brilliant venue - great 3 weeks there!). Problem is that you have to do all your booking of tickets / accommodation so far in advance nowadays - weve already paid deposits for tickets etc.

Looking forward to them being held in Athens - although already a bit scared of driving there

Stu, Paul, you are welcome ! You and any other Briskoda member !

I am sorry, but I have no idea about accomodation ! It's a bit difficult, I understand this, perhaps you have to go some offices (tourist operators maybe) which they have made some bookings, I really do not know... sorry...

Don't be scared to drive over here ! Although we have a really heavy traffic in Athens, during the games will be much better, as the metro is expanding, new roads, bridges are been constructing, and for sure we are good drivers, no doubt about it !!!

And of course a meeting will be arranged for all the Greek Octavians to meet their Briskoda friends :)

  • 3 weeks later...

Back to the FMIC issue then; I asked Forge Motorsport at U.K. about the FMIC kit for Octavia 1.8T, and their reply was as follows:

I am sorry but the Golf FMIC does not fit the Octavia, however we are working on one for the Octavia at the present so we should have a kit with all the necessary tubing available shortly

There isn't a FMIC that will fit the Octavia and there never will be one with out some cutting away of plastic and/or metalwork around the radiator because of the way the car has been constructed. I have an ABD Racing FMIC that is made for a Golf Mk4 1.8T and it FITS PERFECTLY with some cutting of plastic around the radiator. It was supplied and fitted by Impossible Performance for

Hi Lloyd

Didn't do any before/after runs but can now run 1.25 bar and hold safely with 37C intake temperature after a run.
