I think you'll find the Atomic clock would only be out by one second after about 2 Billion years, give or take a year or so.........emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Easiest way to tell if it's getting a signal from the atomic clock at Rugby is when the clocks go backwards or forwards by one hour, (British Summer Time) If it is - you won't need to adjust the clock - it will do it by itself.

My 2010 Octy hasn't as for as I know - bear in mind that it's a continental car. But then I changed the time in the evening before 2am if you follow me. Last car I had that changed time by itself and kept accurate time was a Vauxhall Astra.

To be more precise though it depends how fast you drive . . .(relative to the BBC clock) . . . but then my eyes glaze over !

Don't forget altitude!! :giggle:

No, mine doesn't change over either. I find that a minor niggle as I've had automatic clocks for years with my previous Vauxhalls.

I didnt really  think it was atomic, anyway I had to change it manually with the rest of the clocks in the spring, all except the wifes DAB radio ....now that is quite spooky.

I was merely commenting as to blinking accurate it was for a standard digital/quartz? clock.

Cheers

Just lucky, I should think. A "standard" quartz clock (without any kind of regulation or calibration) should be accurate to within half-a-second a day; you might have just got a good one.

Of course, what really confounds me is why they don't just use override it with the Clock Time information from the RDS, which would always be accurate to 100ms... :wall:

I'm glad someone has pointed out the impact of relativity on fast moving clocks (in a VRS on a private road, obviously!).
