OE Xenon's fitted!

Featured Replies

After buying Sy's xenon headlights and testing the once broken light, i found out that the ballast had gone, so i did some research and found out that the Vauxhall Omega shared the same ballast. I came across a complete omega xenon headlight with working ballast for £25, so i took a punt and bought it. I reckoned that if they have the same ballast and lamp, the reflector should be the same too :wait:

I took the headlight apart and found that the reflector was exactly the same

I reassembled the reflector using the fabia's projector and beam director and fitted it back into the light fitting. Also fitted some LED sidelights too

Last step was fitting them to the car, which i managed to do without removing the bumper. Id previously marked the old headlight beam line on the garage door so i could match the xenons too, and hey presto they work great!

Im really happy that i managed to fix them to how they should be, and for a bargain price too!

Think the car looks much better now,

I know there might be a bit of moaning about not passing mot's etc etc, but i have a plan

Excellent :)

Nice work finding the parts :)

I was watching these on ebay, Top work on finding out/fitting the omega reflector.

still don't understand why these weren't standard on SE's, they finish it off nicely! great work

Well done!

just a quick question aren't xenon lights ment to have a projector washer to wash them off every 8th time you use your screen wash?

arent xenons ment to have screen wash squirted on them every 8th time you was your windscreen?

They are meant to have washers yes. But in realitly the washers do nothing other than make the dirt wet!

Great work though - wonder how much the cost of Omega headlights will go up as Fabia owners fight over them!

ok i wasnt sure if it was more important and will fail your MOT.

Sorry for the double post aswell not sure how to delete one of them

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Its only the reflector bowl that fits the headlamp (the round bit pictured) not the complete inside.

As for the headlight washers, if i can source the bits ill retro fit that too, and it was mot'd a couple of wks ago so ive got a year to find them.

Legal grey area really -- meant to have them, but doesn't seem to be enforced much atm. Believe it's all set to change next year though. They're also meant to be self leveling so they always point at the same level regardless of loads in the car.

With proper ones like I doubt either are a huge issue in the real workd, it's more the cheap HID kits into normal lights that create issues.

If the washers had a wiper blade like old SAABs and Volvos then they'd be of use - as it is - they just aren't.

That was lucky finding out that it has the same internal parts!!

Ok thanks for the info there. Good work and looks really nice on the car :-)

Good bit of detective work there and the end result looks good emoticon-0103-cool.gif

They will only check the beam pattern which will be fine, cnt see you having any issues with mot :)

see, all you looosers who messaged me, this could have been you.

Nice meeting you dude

Very jealous, lucky finding the part, nice one
