Why has the VRS held it's value so well compared to a PD130 Ibiza?

Featured Replies

I couldn't take a car made in Spain seriously.

The Czechs have a fine engineering pedigree - the Germans were so impressed they made Skoda factories part of the German military production machine.

Spaniards are only notable for sleeping and torturing defenceless animals.

10k for a 3-yr-old Ibiza (old shape!) :o

Posher than the Fabia too with audio controls on the wheel, climate control, leccy rear windows.

Is expensive though! Wonder how much that 09 registered SE went for?

I paid £8,000 exactly and it had a smidge under 20k miles on the clock.

Seemed like a good buy.

Good points all round it just seems like the bottom of the Ibiza's depreciation curve is a lot lower than the VRS's which is more my point. For what is essentially the same car it just seems odd.

Let's not even consider throwing the PD130 Polo GT into the mix :D
