Scenic, twisty and lengthy please :D

Is Graham (Lucky) still around? If so, it would be nice to say hello again and see your beast of a diesel :)

His last post (no, not the trumpet) was 23rd June, so still fairly recent.

Will work on the route tomorrow night - will try and make the end point more 'southern friendly' ;)

Cheers,

Howard

If we end up at postcode TS18, then I won't have very far to travel at all ;)

Request noted :D

I'll be heading up the A19 so we could meet up with whoever else is coming from the Teesside/Durham way and go in convoy (I know the way :))

Mark,

The convoy idea sounds good. What d'ya say we meet at the services on the A689 Hartlepool road just off the A19. Will also be local for Geoff aswell if he's up for that. How about we get there with a view to setting off at about 13:30 to head on up to WB??

Thanks Howard for trawling through the replies and updating the list. Wasn't backhealing - honest. Just been busy the last few days. I have no preference for road types but also might take Jnr along so will have to go canny.... ;) ;)

ok boys sounds good, i also have a freind to bring, he drives an octavia, make room 4 him!!

Any location is good for me, its an excuse to play with the toy...err i mean the car.

By the way Wolviston Services is a regular hang-out for Cleveland Traffic plod. So be careful when arriving & leaving ;)

Jimmy - A19/A689 @ 13.30, see you there :)

Geoff - same place, same time?

Stuart - if you are further up the A19, then you can just join up as we go past or nip down to the A689 meet point.

Edit:

I'll probably be picking someone up at the far North of Hartlepool so will have to make a slight detour as we get a few miles up the A19(may mean meeting a few minutes earlier than 13.30)

Yep, suits me sir !!

Btw, "far north of hartlepool" ? i never knew the town was that big hahahaha

Is that Peterlee then???

OK gents. Eyes down.

Suggested meeting spot, St Mary's Lighthouse car park. Between Whitley Bay and Seaton Sluice on the coast.

Route via Newcastle Airport, Belsay, Roman Wall, Corbridge, Hexham, Allendale, Allenheads, Stanhope, Eggleston, Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland to end up at Durham Services on the A1(M).

A nice wee jaunt on a Sunday afternoon, with plenty of places to stop for photos etc. on the way.

I would allow 4 hours for the trip including stops.

Opinions?

Cheers,

Howard

Sounds good to me Howard, I look forward to it. Now all I need to do is get a new tape for my DV camera and work out how to edit the film I take....

I am now picking someone up from Hart Village which will add about 15 minutes to the journey.

If possible, could we meet at 13.15 at Wolviston services and then catch other people up once I've picked up my "ballast" ;)

If this is OK, I would think we'd be back on the A19 just after 13.30 so would be on schedule again :)

I might just put my Hi-Vis Jacket on and sit in the lay-by opposite the services pretending to be an Un-Marked Traffic Nazi

Hi all, meeting place sounds good, I spoke to Graham (Lucky), he sound interested and hopefully will be in touch to confirm.

Mark, No probs with me. Is there a Maccy Dees at the services? If so (and if the boy comes along) I'll have to get there early so I can get him a happy meal - will only bend my ear about it later if I don't...

Can I come??????

By all means. Teesside airport's just around the corner;) ;)

Jimmy,

I'm not sure if it's a Macs or a |Burger King but there's definitely one or the other. Maybe Geoff could check next time he passes to confirm.

Marvellous weekend of "tootling" in the sunshine. I could feel the heat draining the engine though - it didn't seem to be pulling at full Nutter level :D

Will be back in the UK by the 30th July - Let me know where everyone is meeting and I will be there, might be my last chance to put faces to names

You've already seen my enormous face :)

If you're travelling from the Durham / Teesside area then me, Mark (Panrix) and Geoff (MonkeyHanger) are meeting at the Wolviston services (A19 / A689) about 13:15 and then travel up in convoy....
